:eyeroll: Title: Re: SEC Tournament Bracket Post by: Marshal Dillon on March 08, 2014, 07:13:44 PM Alabama/LSU should be interesting. We can win this one. Then we would get Kentucky.

We just need to beat LSU, Kentucky, Georgia, and then Florida. Piece of cake.

But I don't think even the planets can get us past FL.
On the other hand, maybe FL will be upset in one of their games. Title: Re: SEC Tournament Bracket Post by: ricky023 on March 09, 2014, 03:24:36 PM Yea McBaman, maybe that upset will be us doing it! I think it be one of those shock the world kind of things and they do happen as we know. Cassius Clay said that one time years ago. RTR!

I think it be one of those shock the world kind of things and they do happen as we know. Cassius Clay said that one time years ago. RTR! Yeah, but Clay didn't have a 13-18 record going into the fight with Liston. He also had won a gold medal in the Olympics. Yeah, but Clay didn't have a 13-18 record going into the fight with Liston. He also had won a gold medal in the Olympics. In 2008 Georgia had a 13-16 record. They were 4-12 and the East # 6 seed. They shared the worst SEC record with Auburn. They won the SEC Tourney and did not get a first round bye. It is unlikely we will win the SEC Tourney this year but it is not impossible. Title: Re: SEC Tournament Bracket Post by: Crimson Legend on March 11, 2014, 09:37:44 AM Was 2008 the Tornado year?
Title: Re: SEC Tournament Bracket Post by: pmull on March 11, 2014, 09:44:35 AM :deadhorse:
Was 2008 the Tornado year? Yes. The Tourney was moved to Georgia Tech after the Bama/Miss State game. Georgia had to play two games in one day which I had never seen before or since. Title: Re: SEC Tournament Bracket Post by: pmull on March 12, 2014, 11:17:08 AM Imagine if that game had not gone into overtime. Thousands of fans would have been leaving the dome and outdoors when the storm hit. I am sure it was frighting inside the building but it would have been much worst outside.
Title: Re: SEC Tournament Bracket Post by: pmull on March 12, 2014, 11:22:23 AM The Tournament starts tonight. USCe/Auburn at 6:00 and Miss State/Vandy at 8:30.

Title: Re: SEC Tournament Bracket Post by: Marshal Dillon on March 12, 2014, 08:42:52 PM USCe beat the crap out of the barn 74-56 in the first game. I get so sick of the crap I hear about coaches who obviously can't coach. Barbee has averaged 12 wins a year in 4 years. When he asked about his future he said they were laying the foundation. Averaging 12 wins a year is laying the foundation for failure. Naturally, the announcers made excuses and said he had a (singular) freshman coming in next year. I doubt Barbee will be a head coach anytime in the next 10 years or longer. :wall: Title: Re: SEC Tournament Bracket Post by: pmull on March 12, 2014, 09:09:37 PM USCe beat the crap out of the barn 74-56 in the first game. If the barn decides to give him another year the administration is admitting they do not care about basketball. If fired look for Barbee to land on Calipari's staff at Kentucky. I think he is fired by Friday. Why keep him around? I'm are Auburn has had feelers out to prospective replacements for at least the past month. Title: Re: SEC Tournament Bracket Post by: Catch Prothro on March 12, 2014, 10:17:34 PM USCe beat the crap out of the barn 74-56 in the first game. WOW! Talk about a classy move, fire the coach on the road at the hotel. It's obvious the Barn was totally dissatisfied with Barbee and I can't blame them with the awful teams he produced. Maybe something happened at the hotel and the AD fired him instead of getting back to Barn. Maybe Barbee wanted an extension. Quote Barbee signed 21 players in his four signing classes at Auburn; Of those 21, only 9 remain on the roster, and five of those just finished their first year in the program, putting Auburn's APR at risk. The reasons for those departures ranged from disciplinary issues to disagreements with Barbee's coaching style and included one high-profile scandal at the end of Barbee's second season on the Plains. Not quite as bad as USC telling Kiffin at the airport he was fired and telling him to find his own ride. Not quite as bad as USC telling Kiffin at the airport he was fired and telling him to find his own ride. I forgot about the Kiffin firing, that was really so ugly and classless. It shows how much he was disliked. Everything about Barbees 4 year tenure was ugly. :deadhorse: Title: Re: SEC Tournament Bracket Post by: Catch Prothro on March 12, 2014, 10:35:15 PM Quote Barbee signed 21 players in his four signing classes at Auburn; Of those 21, only 9 remain on the roster, and five of those just finished their first year in the program, putting Auburn's APR at risk.
