Darren Lake will miss the remainder of spring practice after undergoing surgery on an injured pectoral muscle, Alabama coach Nick Saban said Monday.

Saban said Lake was doing "extremely well" in the Crimson Tide's offseason program before the injury occurred. He'll be back for summer conditioning, Saban said...

This is the one position that I thought the team team was very weak at last year. Hopefully this will provide another player more reps to help fill that weak link.

Excellent point, J.
It's very tough to find a quality nose guard these days, and Lake looked very promising.  Hopefully he'll be back early enough (and strong enough) to contribute this season.

Where are we on the non-depth chart  :lol2: without Lake?

Keep an eye on Jaren Reed. He could emerge as the NT we've been looking for.

I hope so.
That position is a worry.  Players there get beat up every game, and the position requires such a skill set that it's tough to recruit.
We need another Jesse!  :worship: :worship:

I like hearing he could come back strong but Reps are what makes a person better. I was sure thinking that we could get through spring without any injuries we would be so Blessed. Not to be at this time. RTR!
