Title: College World Series Power Rankings
Post by: Marshal Dillon on June 19, 2011, 05:30:05 PM
The Virginia Cavaliers are #2? I missed this all year. When did they suddenly get so good?

QUOTE
The No. 1-ranked team on the list, all the way from Gainesville, Florida, is the University of Florida Gators. Coming from arguably the best conference in baseball in the SEC, the Gators have played amazing the whole season

Virginia has been ranked in the top 5 all year. They have a good program year in and year out. The ACC is not a bad baseball conference. North Carolina, Clemson, Florida State and Miami all have solid programs.

FSU & Miami are traditional baseball powers going back 30 years & UNC won the title 3 years ago, but Virginia?

I know they host regionals on a regular basis. This is their second CWS in three years. They have a good program, similar to Clemson.

I guess I'm so tuned into the SEC teams and especially the Tide, I just don't notice Clemson or Virginia.

 ???

Don't feel like the Lone Ranger, Marshall Dillon (lol). I just recently picked up on UVA's baseball tradition . But I have considered the ACC a basketball conference 1st and then golf/baseball.

WVU kicks major azz in shooting sports (rifle team).
