Bama is in trouble. We trail MSU 7-2 after 6 innings. MSU has the best bullpen in the league.

Bama loses 9-4. What in the world is going on with us getting hammered at home against SEC competition lately?

Lack of pitching, hitting, runs and I'm sure we could add some other things to the list. :wall:

Didn't realize that this series started last night.  Kinda wish my head was still in the sand.

Bama got out played last night. MSU never hit the ball but they hit them in the right places. They did not have an extra base base, all singles. We hit the ball hard but right at them. MSU 3rd baseman looked like Brooks Robinson in his prime. He made several very nice plays on hard hit balls.

I am not sure why CMG set up the pitching the way he has. Bramlett started last night. He had only started 4 games and none of them SEC games. The good news is our ace Turnbull is pitching tonight and our hottest pitcher, Kamplain, is pitching tomorrow. I do not know why Keller is out of the starting rotation.

We knew when the schedule was released these last four weeks of the season were our most difficult of the year. Regardless what happens the rest of this series and the SEC Tournament we will be a high #2 seed worst case. This team has improved greatly since last season. I am looking forward to the post season because I think we have a team capable of winning some important games. I don't know if we are good enough without some breaks to make it to Omaha but we are good enough to advance to a Super Regional.

After last night's loss our RPI is #22. We have been ranked in the top 25 since about the 3rd week of the season. This is SEC baseball. Going .550 in this league is very good. Miss State made it to the World Series last year after going 13-14 in the SEC.

This season is far from over.

It's just that we've lost all momentum since the collapse in game 3 at UT. I realize that our pitching rotation has been shaken up to save the arms of our best pitchers, but we're going in the wrong direction. We need to stop the bleeding tonight and tomorrow to gain a little confidence going into the post season. I'm just too skeptical to believe that we have that kind of a run left in us.

There is only 6-8 teams in the country that would not have struggled with series against USCe, UF, LSU and MSU.

Bottom of the 3rd.
1st-base umpire makes the worst call ever against Bama.  Player was safe by a step, but called out.   >:(

Still 0-0 in T4.

Game 2 was a classic pitchers duel. MSU was able to get one of their 6 hits out of the park to win 1-0. Bama needed that game and we could not get Turnbull any run support. Turnbull pitched great. He only gave up one run in seven strong innings. Turnbull lost to LSU last week 2-0. You have to score a few runs and help a guy out that pitches as well as he has lately.

Several very bad calls in the game. One was on a play at the plate that would have scored a run. The home plate ump was consistent but his strike zone included ankle high pitches 6" outside all night. It forced batters to swing at bad pitches that contributed to the low scoring game.

Losing this series pretty much means we will be on the road in the NCAA Regionals. A few weeks ago we were in position to host a regional but we have not won the close games down the stretch against the better teams in the league. Still a lot to play for though.

Alabama wins Game Three 2-1.

Justin Kamplain gets the win and Thomas Borrows gets the save. solo HR's by White and Moore was enough to hold off the dog's. Bama finishes SEC play at 15-14.

Our last game at Sewell Thomas was a win. We win play in Hoover next year while our stadium is demolished and rebuilt. The 35 million dollar new stadium will be one of the SEC's finest. It is about time Bama spends some money on baseball and brings it up to the upper echelon of the SEC.
