Title: State's Top BB Prospect Kicked Off Team
Post by: Marshal Dillon on May 19, 2014, 08:31:45 PM
Wow, what a story.

Quote
Danjel Purifoy, widely considered the state's top boys basketball prospect, will not be playing for Bibb County as a senior.
Bibb County head coach Russ Wallace told AL.com Wednesday he is unsure whether his star will transfer schools, but he has essentially cut him from the team due to lack of participation

Like most stories this one has two sides. Purifoy is more loyal to his AAU coach than his HS coach. He was going to transfer at the year of the year anyway. He is going to enroll in a prep school for his senior year that will get him more exposure, better competition and better coaching.

His offers are continuing to roll in. He will be able to pick where he wants to play college ball.

Seems like the story is this:

"He's not doing the things he needs to do to be a part of my program," Wallace said. "When you don't show up for spring practice, you're not going to play for me. I don't care if he's the best player in the state or the worst, that's just how I work."

"He's not at practice and there's no explanation from anybody," Wallace said. "He sits in my class every day and doesn't participate in anything we do.

Another entitled athlete who will have people bend rules, look the other way, and make things easy b/c he can hold a ball.

I am sure he will have many offers from many schools.

These AAU coaches have a bad stench about them. There is no doubt in my mind that they make a lot of money marketing these kids to schools across the country. ;)
