T6, still no outs.

Walk, error, wild pitch, etc: 5-1 Kentucky still batting.

Bama doesn't look like a team that has any desire to win this game, one and done. >:(

Good pitching does that.
But mental errors are killing us.  Looks bad.
T8, now 7-1.

A disappointing end to the regular season.

I do not understand the pitching rotation CMG has used since we went to USCe which coincides with the slump we went into late in the year. Jason Keller was our Sunday starter with a 5-2 record and 2.57 ERA. He did not make the trip to USCe for violation of team rules but was reinstated the following Monday. He has not started a game since. He has pitched a few innings in relief but that is it. He is a finalist for the Greg Olson Award.

Last Thursday against Miss State CMG elected to start freshman Bramlett when Turnbull and Keller were available. That moved Turnbull to Friday and Kamplain to Saturday. It also meant Turnbull and Kamplain would not be availavle for Tuesday's single elimination game. Kentucky started their ace last Thursday and brought him back Tuesday. We should have done the same with Turnbull.

CMG elected to start true freshman Nick Eicholtz yesterday. He had a terrible start. He gave up 2 runs on one hit, 4 walks and one HBP. He did not record an out in the second when he was pulled. That poor start set the tone for the game. UK opted to start their big lefty ace and he did a very good job for them. He is 11-2 on the year and considered a first round draft pick as a pitcher and first baseman.

We will get some much needed rest before traveling to a Regional next weekend. We should be a number 2 seed. We will be pitching Turnbull and Kamplain in the first two games. We need to get them some run support. Our bats have gone dead but we have faced very good pitching against USCe, Florida, LSU, Miss State and yesterday against UK. I think we will be a tough out in the regional.

The NCAA Regional's begin next weekend. We will be invited. If we win our 4 team regional we will advance to a 2 team super regional. If we win that we advance to the World Series. Yes, we can still win the championship. We have to play a whole lot better than we have been but we still have a chance.
