Title: Re: Happy Memorial Day Post by: N.AL-Tider on May 26, 2014, 12:15:27 PM While our veterans and current military personnel definitely DO deserve our gratitude and appreciation, Memorial Day was established as a holiday to remember those who died while serving our military. Thanks to each of them and may they have special privileges in their eternity for the sacrifices they made to provide us with the freedoms we enjoy today.

GOD BLESS THEM ALL  the flags in the C-17 cargo area says it all http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ph3PGSVxr7A I hope I don't sound selfish, but I thank God my 22 year old son never has served or expressed an interest in it and that's fine with me. It takes a certain mentality to serve, especially in the Marines & Army, since they are the fighters and ground troops. Plus, years ago my daughter talked about joining and I told her over my dead boy and I meant it. She never joined. I explained to my kids that our family has done enough. One of my brothers served in the Navy, 2 grandfathers served in the Navy during World War II & saw heavy action in the Pacific, and an uncle of mine served in the Korean War. I sincerely believe the family has done its duty. I am happy to hear your son made it back. Just love him every chance you get and make sure the war does not haunt him. :dog: |
