Title: I am going to like CLK
Post by: bama87 on May 29, 2014, 10:14:04 PM
This is a good read. I got this from Mike Herndon.. He has other insight from CLK. Fowler is up to 260 and will be strictly a FB. Can you imagine he and Henry in a goal line situation, that is some power. He also says Drake will be more involved in passing game.  With TJ, Henry and Drake he says that is better talent at RB than most NFL teams. Here is the link.

"Finishing his true freshman year at 245 pounds, running 4.4, that was really easy to come in and see that it'd be good to give him the ball," Kiffin said of Henry

Too bad he wasn't on the staff for the last 2 games.

Good story link.   :lol2:

I believe that one of the main difference between last year and the previous championship years was the abandonment of short passes to RBs. That added a whole extra dimension to our offense that defenders had to adjust to. If you can ignore the RB after he fakes into the line without the ball, LBs are free to rush the QB, safeties are free to drop back. But if Mark Ingram is standing 5yds past the line of scrimmage, waiting for the ball, the defense has got to keep someone on him. That takes the pressure off elsewhere. I see drake as that kind of guy for us next year.

I am waiting for the season to open and see what CLK is going to look like with his offense. RTR!

I’m excited about the possibilities too. I hope CLK lives up to expectations. By that I mean not only play calling but the QB mentoring. I see his most important job being to prepare somebody to be more than the guy who hands off to the tailback. If he succeeds at that it would make his play calling job easier.

I agree. I think we will see more diverse play calling this year, with the RB's much more involved in the passing game.

If he stays here 3 years, which I doubt, I think he will be a big success afterwards as a head coach again. When Napier spoke to us the other  night, he had a spiral notebook in his hands that he said he wouldn't take $500,000 for because it holds everything that he has been taught since becoming a coach under Nick Saban.
