Title: Incredible Story About Former MLB Player
Post by: Marshal Dillon on July 17, 2014, 02:07:17 PM
This is why I don't get goo-goo eyed about athletes, coaches, or celebrities. They are no better than any of us. This is  long article but very troubling, especially if your daughter plays sports. I remember this guy from when he played for the Yankees.

I do vaguely remember Hall as a player.  I was a huge baseball fan in the early 90's and to this day when I hear a name I can often remember what team he played for.

What was stunning about this article to me was the power that celebrity has.  I'm not a father yet, but I just can't imagine letting a man get close to my teenage daughter just because he's famous.  It's like all the parents in this story lost the ability to reason and make sound judgments in the presence of this guy just because he played baseball for a living, or because they wanted their children to be successful in sports.  I know many things happen that are beyond the control of parents, but in almost every case described in this article if the parents had used just a little common sense they could have protected their daughters.  Just tragic.

Seems like the parents turned a blind eye because Hall was providing so much financial support.  They sold their daughter.  Who would move out of their master bedroom and allow a grown man to sleep in that room with their 15 year old daughter?  Crazy.

BINGO!! Basically, they pimped out their 15 year old. Remember the parents who let their little boys stay overnight with Michael Jackson? Same thing.
