Title: Saints Preseason Opener - Ingram and Sunseri Played well
Post by: bamaphil on August 09, 2014, 08:31:38 PM
I watched the second half of the Saints preseason opener yesterday.

I didn't see Ingram play, but he had 8 carries for 83 yards.  He played well toward the end of last season and being healthy and in a contract year I kind of expect to see him put up some numbers this year.  The Saints backfield is a little less crowded than the last couple of years, so if he's healthy he should get more opportunities.

In the second Sunseri played and he seemed to be all over the field making plays.  He was playing against the Rams' 3rd and 4th team, but he looked good.  He did have one roughing the passer penalty for a helmet to helmet hit.  I think he's going to be an excellent backup safety and special teams player.

I didn't see Barrett Jones play for the Rams or hear his name called.  Garrett Gilbert was the Rams QB for most of the 2nd half and didn't do too much.  Tre Mason had a few big runs against the Saints' 3rd/4th team defense.
