Title: Georgia high school football player dies after overhydrating
Post by: Jamos on August 11, 2014, 06:07:35 PM
This is a twist to hydration for the football players dealing with the heat in practice. It is so sad to see these kids in high school die from sports participation.

Wow, you rarely hear about the other side of the hydration issue, but this is a good reminder of not overdoing it by drinking too much. I can't imagine taking in that much liquid in such a short period of time. Prayers to that young man's family.

This is the first time i've ever heard of this happening to a football player, but I have heard of water poisoning before.  Very sad.  Most people have no idea that drinking large amounts of water can be deadly.
