Great job, I was noticing some of the sizes these men are, big young men. You ever notice these big guys coming out of H.S. wanting to play in college and usally they have speed. RTR!

I think our 3 loss year this past year was an anomaly. With all the talent we have and all the talent coming in, I don't see many more 3 loss years for a Saban coached Bama team. RTR!

Kelly, the nephew of Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback Jim Kelly, had been hearing from Alabama already, but his offer was made official when Crimson Tide head coach Nick Saban called Kelly directly to give him the news.

It's Florida vs. Alabama. In prime-time. On Saturday night. Naturally, this is going to be a game where prospects from all over the state of Florida (and the rest of the Southeast for that matter) are going to show up in droves to attend. The #12-ranked Gators head into the weekend hoping to knock off #2-ranked Alabama. But they're also hoping use the SEC battle as a showcase game to recruits as to why they should attend the University of Florida in the future. Much like the Florida State-Oklahoma game was two weeks ago in Tallahassee, this is the big-ticket game for a vast number of recruits on Saturday.

The 38-10 win over Florida might be even bigger than it first appeared.  Florida had assembled a large number of 2012 recruits for the game, and they saw Alabama showcase itself, not the intended UF show.

Now a powerful 5-foot-11 and 195 pounds, Sanders runs 40 yards in an outstanding 4.31 seconds and probably will finish his career with most of the Heritage Hall rushing records.

Sanders is ranked as the No. 2 running back and No. 10 overall player in the nation by CBS/MaxPreps recruiting analyst Tom Lemming.

Lemming says that Sanders "Shows remarkable balance, vision and speed, plus the ability to break tackles. As competitive and confident as they come, he can turn a game around with one play. He accelerates as quick or quicker than any other back in the country."

The highly sought Sanders, who carries a 3.39 GPA, has narrowed his college list to Alabama, Florida State, Stanford and LSU. Sanders says his decision will rest on "mainly just the environment and academics." He is expected to announce his college choice at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl on Jan. 7, 2012, at the Alamodome in San Antonio.

LSU got a commitment from 4* OG, Vadal Alexander from Georgia.  He had offers from most everybody, including Alabama.

My grandson plays for American Christian here in T-town and they have a pretty good team in the 2A division, ranked 4th. I received a video today of the QB Grammer and their RB Davis, these two should do well at the next level. Grammer has already committed to Houston and I'm not sure that Davis has committed.

There are at least 6 on this team that will play at the next level with some going to the Ivy League, their ACT scores were 30,31,and 32. Just wanted to share.

Rushel Shell, one of the nation's top RBs, is supposed to announce his decision tomorrow.  He's thought to be down to Pitt and Bama.  Unfortunately it may be hard to pull him away from his home state.

Top QB Gunner Kiel reopens his recruitment

SHELBYVILLE, Ind. -- In news that was shocking only with regards to its timing, Columbus (Ind.) quarterback Gunner Kiel decommitted from Indiana and opened up his recruitment Friday.

"To be honest I'm just reevaluating my decision," Kiel said. "I just want to go out and see other places and see if IU is the right place."

Ranked as the top quarterback in the class of 2012 and number two overall in the country by Maxpreps, Kiel committed to the Hoosiers in late July over national powers such as Alabama, Oklahoma, Michigan and USC.

"I think I made the right decision," he said of his original pledge. "Things happen. I thought hard about it but decided to go out and reevaluate it."

The 6-foot-4, 215-pounder told new Indiana head coach Kevin Wilson Thursday night, two days after he was officially selected for the U.S. Army All-American Bowl.

"I just called him and told him I was re-evaluating my decision and will go out and visit some more schools," Kiel said.

I don't have anything worthy of the 15,000 "cherry busting".

Dorial Green-Beckham apparently has recently narrowed his choices to 4 schools (Arkansas, Boogerville, etc), and did not include Alabama.  Heard it on ESPNU.

Freitag largely fits the mold of most Alabama tight ends in recent years under Nick Saban. At 6'4 and roughly 240 pounds, he has the size to be a legitimate threat as both a blocker and a receiver in the passing game, and with that frame he at least has the raw size needed to be an early contributor.

Many reports have had Freitag as a silent commitment the past several weeks, and that would be no real surprise. Having fellow Alabama commitment Dillon Lee coming out of the same high school probably only helped our chances with this one and by pledging to the Tide Freitag becomes the eighth commitment of the 2012 recruiting class out of the Peach State.

The 2013 recruiting cycle is only beginning to heat up but already Alabama and Auburn are battling over one of the top recruits of the Class of 2014, St. Paul's sophomore Tre' Williams. Breakdown: Dee Liner, Vonn Bell and Eddie Jackson can be conservatively considered to have solid chances to end up in Tuscaloosa. If all three sign with Alabama, the Tide would finish with 2,947 points. Even if Alabama loses Bell to Ohio State or Tennessee, the Tide have proven to show a lot of muscle down the stretch. They are soundly in the game for Alvin Kamara. A Liner-Kamara combo would give Alabama 2,928 points -- right at last year's mark. A quartet of five-stars, Laremy Tunsil, Eddie Vanderdoes, Montravius Adams and Reuben Foster are all long shots, but Nick Saban has closed hard on five-star prospects before.
Title shot: Alabama has a better shot than any school to end at No. 1. If the Tide don't lose anyone, get who they are supposed to get and pull one other big-name surprise, this race is over. Even the most conservative scenarios seem to place Alabama in a near-unbeatable position.

Alabama has at least four spots to fill in its 2013 recruiting class, and at the moment, it’s too murky to predict exactly who the Crimson Tide will pull in by national signing day.

However, we’re willing to guess these three appear decent bets to land in Tuscaloosa and Alabama would be glad to have them: Wide receiver Eddie Jackson, 6-foot-0, 180 pounds, Boyd Anderson High in Lauderdale Lakes, Fla.; running back Alvin Kamara, 5-10, 190, Norcross (Ga.) High; defensive lineman Dee Liner, 6-4, 295, Muscle Shoals.

Other possible commitments include defensive lineman Eddie Vanderdoes of Placer High in Auburn, Calif., linebacker Reuben Foster of Auburn High, offensive tackle Laremy Tunsil of Columbia High in Lake City, Fla., and defensive lineman Jarran Reed of East Mississippi Community College. National Signing Day is Wednesday, February 6, 2013 and everyone is sitting on the edge of their seats in anticipation as to whether the Bama Fax Girl will be back!

After that major development is settled, it comes down to counting up the faxes that arrive on campus. At this point, 22 young men have given their verbal commitment to attend the University of Alabama. The exact total that Coach Nick Saban can sign is unknown at this time due to Brandon Hill's possible back-counting to 2012 and Bradley Bozeman taking a greyshirt to count towards the 2014 class. More greyshirts are possible as well.

Crazy things happen on NSD, but we should expect a pretty uneventful one as far as guys possibly flipping away from Alabama (mostly because I don't think there will be any). Instead let's focus on who may fill the last few openings and who might flip to the Tide. From the list below, it is pretty evident defensive line is a priority, followed by one O-lineman and maybe one more defensive back. Also, there is one RB that they might take and a certain 5-star that you may have heard of.

The Rueben Foster saga appears it's ugly head again as news leaked out last night about Foster leaving Auburn on his official visit and coming to T-town. After what Foster did to the Bama program nationally when he decomitted from them earlier, you have to wonder if this is another scheme to try and tarnish the Crimson Tide again on a national level.

The story involved with the reason for his leaving Auburn seems a little farfetched to me but again we are talking about Auburn and the conduct of their players in the past. This might have happened and this isn't just another publicity ploy by Foster trying to get his name on the headlines of the sports world again. The idea of Foster to commit on Monday and the NSD is on Wednesday sure leaves a time frame for another decommit by Foster on NSD to get that media attention that he seems to love so much. JMHO  :dunno:

Is the Foster commitment the beginning of something spectacular about to happen for Bama recruiting this year? Somehow I get the feeling that the recruits this year want a class that can better what the senior class of this year accomplished in their career at Bama. If that is the case, there may be some more pleasant surprises to come. :dunno:

I think you are right. The only problem......is there room for them all? With the Foster commitment, I believe that makes 22 so far. If A'Shawn Robinson is truly going to commit, that will make 23. All talking heads say Liner is solid to Bama so he would be 24 and if Kamara is truly a Bama lean, then that's 25, the limit. If Vanderdoes, M. Adams, Connor and Jarran Reed commit, not to mention long shots V. Bell and Nkemdiche, where do you put them or who do you grey shirt or cut loose?

It's a great problem to have, but has got to be giving our beloved head coach some gray hairs.

Like Alabama, Georgia is pitching Evans on the idea of playing as an outside linebacker specializing in rushing the passer, an idea that Evans' father says appeals to the young star.

"Georgia likes him as a Jack linebacker similar to Jarvis Jones and they see him contributing very quickly in their program," Alan said. "I think Rashaan is comfortable with that kind of role because it utilizes the skills he has developed as a defensive end in high school."

Elizabethtown (Ky.) John Hardin defensive tackle Matt Elam looked on Saturday as Alabama beat his other favorite, Kentucky, 48-7 at Commonwealth Stadium on Saturday. While he was there as a guest of the Wildcats, Elam said he got as much out of watching the Tide and envisioning where he'd fit in its defense than he did from watching Kentucky, with whom he's well familiar.

Alabama has a strong chance of landing the 6-foot-6, 350-pounder, who could be Alabama's best nose tackle commit since Terrence Cody. If the lure of staying close to home wins Elam over in the end, however, the Tide also is still working on Brighton (Tenn.) DT Charles Mosley, who is rather mountainous himself at 6-5, 345...

"I just wanted to be neutral and not hurt anybody's feelings on that," Elam told 247Sports after Alabama's 48-7 victory, adding that he was happy with the view he got of both teams.

"With UK, it was the environment up there, how the coaches were, and how they played against the No. 1 team in the nation," he said. "On Bama's side, it was just playing at that elite level in the SEC while on an away game. I looked at the D-line and the schemes they play. I've seen UK play a lot. this time, I mainly focused on Alabama and how I would fit into their program..."

Scarbrough has missed time with injuries in each of the last four seasons. He broke his ankle in his freshman season at Northridge High in Tuscaloosa, tore his ACL as a sophomore and suffered a high-ankle sprain as a junior.

Alabama center commitment J.C. Hassenauer also missed this weekend's game with a knee injury. With Hassenauer and two other injured starters on the sideline, his Woodbury (Minn.) East Ridge team was upset 38-3 by Eastview in the second round of the playoffs...

Fournette, a 6-foot-1, 225-pound star from New Orleans and the consensus top running back in the nation, has the Crimson Tide listed among his top two along with LSU...

"The atmosphere was just electric," said Evans' father Alan Evans. "Rashaan had a great time and it was great seeing the campus but just being there in that stadium was a highlight. It felt special to be there."

Evans, a 6-foot-3, 220-pound star who could project at linebacker, defensive end or safety at the college level, remains split between his top four schools, with Alabama, Auburn, Georgia and UCLA all remaining equal in the race for his signature. Evans' father said the Tide's continued success this season has confirmed everything the Evans family has liked about Alabama from early on.

"At Alabama, you know you're going to be developed properly," Alan said. "You're going to receive the coaching and the training you need to give you the best possible chance of getting to the NFL. Five-star defensive end Da'Shawn Hand of Woodbridge (Va.) took the final leg of his recruiting tour last weekend, visiting Gainesville for Florida's game against Vanderbilt. What Alabama needs: Nick Saban has begun showing an interest in recruiting smaller, quicker players at linebacker capable of making plays in coverage, due in large part to the increase in popularity of spread formations. Reuben Foster and Tim Williams both fit that mold last year and Alabama could be looking for similarly versatile linebacker prospects going forward.

We currently have 21 commits with 2 JUCO players already singed for 23. We do not have much room left. Talking heads are saying this could be CNS best signing class at Alabama.

Yeah, he got a lot of really good ones early. Would still love for him to get Humphrey, Fournette and Elam, though.

I think we will get at least two of the three. I believe CNS knows where he stands with these guys. As long as CNS is our coach there is no need to worry about recruiting.

I agree and probably the last few possibilities that committed elsewhere were maybe not the hot priorities we thought they were in Saban's mind. I am curious, though, as to why Hootie Jones decomitted.

Ricky Town is a 2015 commit. It will be another year before he comes in.

I wondered about this kid when i looked at the list last week. Hes a bit small for SEC play, unless he was moved to SS, and we have some higher rated players coming in there, too. The kid from SC is going to be a great player, imo, just watching his film. Look at the LBs we have and the size. This class coming in is outrageous! the under armour all-american game showed some great talent coming to Bama. It was interesting that zero were committed to UGA, and i think 2 were committed to LSU. Bama was represented all over the field and got a HUGE pickup with Brown. That kid looks like Barron, but moves like Julio, and is a high-character leader like Clark. Very, very good class coming in.
I wish this kid good luck at UCLA, for sure.

I had been hearing O. J. Smith may not have the grades to enroll and he just decommitted. We are down to 24 commits. I expect a (good) surprise or two tomorrow.

I had read that the two with possible grades issues that CNS mentioned was was O. J . Smith and Bo. I had also read where Williams was considering UCF because of his Fathers health and Orlando is a few hours closer to home than Tuscaloosa. I am ready for all this signing drama to be over.

I was under the impression that there were rules against putting visiting recruits in these sort of "this could be you as a ______" situations. Doesn't lining a kid up with other players as described fall under this rule?

Keith Mixon, who is ranked No. 11 on AL.com's A-List, has seen the Internet speculation and message board rumors that an Alabama offer could be coming his way. The 5-foot-8, 175-pound athlete heard rumors that if Alabama misses on a wide receiver committed to Georgia -- likely Terry Godwin -- that he could be next in line to get a scholarship offer.

He's also seen the message board speculation that if he gets an Alabama offer, he'll flip his commitment to the Crimson Tide. He can't control what fans will post anonymously on the Internet, though he hates the idea of Mississippi State coach Dan Mullen thinking he could de-commit in the near future.

He's insistent that he's happy with the Bulldogs and has no intention of changing his decision, but he wants that Alabama offer. He grew up as an Alabama fan and landing an offer from the in-state SEC power has long been a goal of his.

"I've heard a lot of people say I'm too small to go to Alabama, or too slow," Mixon says. "I just want to prove people wrong."

Byron Cowart (LB), rated the No. 4 overall player in the country by 247Composite, will visit Tuscaloosa when Alabama faces Texas A&M ....

McPherson said he anticipates Jefferson fitting in as a JACK linebacker if he chose Alabama. He's ranked as the No. 2 strong side defensive end in the country.

His commitment will likely not be known until National Signing Day.

"I think he's still up in the air," McPherson said. "I think he's narrowed it down to ... he took a visit to Alabama, he took a visit to Ole miss, he may take one to Georgia, not sure (unofficial visit). A top wide receiver names Auburn his leader, a five-star gives his Auburn visithostess a "10" and more highlight this week's Recruiting Rewind.

"He had a great time," Central Gwinnett head coach Todd Wofford told AL.com. "He said it was his best visit to a game, by far."

Thomas will make a trip to Tuscaloosa this weekend for the Crimson Tide's game against Western Carolina. Wofford will join him.

"He said he enjoyed the way the players were into the game and how the crowd was," Wofford said. "He got to interact with coaches and players. He was with coach (Kirby) Smart the whole day and he talked to coach (Nick) Saban before the game and after the game."

The biggest and best recruits from around the state will be in Tuscaloosa on Saturday for the latest installment in the nation's best rivalry.

Shades Valley five-star defensive tackle Daron Payne headlines a stacked group of prospects headed to Bryant-Denny Stadium. Payne, the top uncommitted player in Alabama, is primarily considering Alabama, Auburn and Mississippi State, though he recently said he'll likely stay in-state. His teammate Keith Mixon, who is committed to Mississippi State, will join him.

Mixon isn't the only player committed elsewhere that'll be in Tuscaloosa. Auburn commits Jalen Harris (St. James School) and Darrell Williams (Hoover) are both expected to be there.

The four-star offensive lineman from Memphis will officially visit Alabama on Jan. 16. Alabama offensive line coach Mario Cristobal and receivers coach Billy Napier have kept up with Richmond since he committed to the Rebels in September. Their approach is simple.

"It's Alabama," Richmond said. "That's all the pitch they need."

He last visited the school for the Iron Bowl against Auburn, which Richmond said was "a really good experience." ...
