Title: QB Prediction for Sat
Post by: ALTideUp on September 04, 2014, 03:09:48 PM
I predict that Coker will start Saturday. I base this on my belief that the plan was to handle WVU and let Coker play the second half of that game. Since he didn't get the chance. Saban will let him start the game, to be true to his word about the openness of the competition and so he can be evaluated with the ones against the ones (sometime one does not equal one) of FAU. Regardless of how well Coker plays Sims will play the third quester. Alex Morris will see the field in the fourth. The oracle has spoken.

I'd take the bet, but it appears Coker may be injured (limping - knee).  Hope you're right, but fear injury will trump the hypothesis.

BINGO! I don't expect him to play, either.

Even if Coker is healthy I think Sims start. I think it's his job to lose at this point. I hope we see Coker play a bunch though.

A good I read is what you saw in Sims Saturday is pretty much what you'll get.
BUT, if Coker can get his head straight, his ceiling is real high. Hope he gets to that point.

Hadn't heard that he was gimpy (pretty shoddy Oracle I am). That changes things and I rescind my prediction. This sucks for Coker, because if Sims plays another whole game and does well we will be too far down that road to turn back. If that happens Sims will have to really falter for a gamble on Coker to be worth it.

Coker was gimpy before the start of the WV game.

True. I seent it. He was limping in warmups. Sims will likely start, IMO. If Coker's knee is still ailing, we may not see him. If that happens, I think ATU is correct, we will be too far down the "Sims is starter" road to turn back unless he gets injured.

So he "re-injured" his knee on the play where he took a knee?  :dunno:

To be fair, all we "know" is that he was limping before the first game.  Is it indeed injured?  Arthritis?  Knee fell asleep on the bench?  Sims ordered a Tonya Harding on him?

I think Sims will start. Coker may be limping but they were ready to play him if needed last week. CNS had him warming up in the 2nd qtr. I think we will see Coker. I also think we see a third QB. It will be either Bateman or Morris.

Agreed. I think LK and CNS want to see Coker in a game situation. As we all have seen, sometimes a player under performs at practice but excels in a game and vice Versa.

Personally, I really want to see him throw it around some.

What looks good on an FAU QB?
