Post by: Chechem on September 04, 2014, 08:16:08 PM
Eddie Lacy looking good so far (4 carries; 23 yards).  GB ahead 7-3/

Seattle "took a play from the Aub-- playbook".

"Ha-Ha Clinton-Dix missed the tackle, and Seattle takes the lead: 10-7"

Ha Ha was looking pretty good until that last play. If Norwood and Jesse were healthy, there would be 5 Bama players between the 2 teams, playing.

True.  Good observation.

Now there are 2 Packers hurt on the same play: RT and TE.  Not good (Jimmie leg on the TE).

GB with another drive aided by a 44-yd pass interf penalty: 10-10.

Lacy looking good, but having to drag the pile for yards (O-line has 3 starters out now).

Marshawn Lynch has 50 yards for Seattle, including a couple of runs over Ha-Ha.

Seattle 17-10.

Lynch made Ha Ha look bad. We need the Bama boys to pick it up.

I'm worried about the O-line, though.

The center is a rookie; starter broke his knee last week.  Now the TE has a concussion, and others are banged up.  Center screwed the last play.

Need points before half.

Ha-Ha made a good play on the ball (long pass), but dropped the int.   :wall:

Halftime 17-10.

Yeah, I think the receiver would have knocked it loose anyway. GB is still in it, but Rodgers has to step it up. He looks a little rusty. That and the O line is now a little weak.

GB's best chance in this game was to establish a running game to keep the DBs honest.  Doesn't seem to be working.  The Seattle D has shut down the running game lately, and GB can't pass every down.

Lacy has 29 yards on 8 rushes.  Nobody else has half that for GB.  Bummer.

Seattle gets the ball first in 2nd half...

Yeah, I forgot to mention that.  They said he came back in shape FINALLY (didn't last year), and has been playing well for GB.

Now we see if GB can move the ball.  They got it inside their 15.

Seattle gets int on tipped ball.  Set up at the GB 9 yard line.

Marshawn Lynch has 87 yards on 10 carries.  Seattle is looking stronger.

GB holds, and Seattle kicks a short fg: 20-10.

You know, folks have been trashing Blake Sims for not connecting on long passes, but this game tonight has been just short passes.

90% of the passes are to backs or WRs within 10 yards.  Long passes are becoming a dinosaur play.

 :dunno:

GB gambled and lost on 4th at the Seattle 45.  Looking bad for the cheese guys.

We don't get NBC on DTV in Huntsville, not for the past week.  Apparently a $ dispute between DTV and Raycom, which owns the local station.

So instead I'm watching UTSA v. Arizona on Fox Sports.  Pretty decent game actually, with Larry Coker coaching UTSA.

I've got the same problems with NBC.  So I'm watching on NBC Sports: http://stream.nbcsports.com/liveextra/

Try it.

Pass rush gets by backup TE, strips Rodgers of ball, safety:

Seattle 22-10.

This one is about over, I think, for the Packers. Seattle looks very good again, particularly on defense. Harvin, Lynch and Wilson make for a good offense. If they all stay healthy, I think they have a good chance of repeating.

Good night, Gracie.

No one says the QB has to throw it long 70% of the tme, but if we fall behind, we need a long pass to loosen up the D. Rodgers has already attempted at least 3-4 long passes. It's not about how many you throw, it's can you throw it long? The answer for Sims is no.

1st and goal for Seattle after a Wilson run.  Looked like he fell awkwardly.   :dunno:

END OF 3RD.  Seattle 22-10.

UTSA is down by 3 points v. AZ in the 4th Quarter, 7:30 left, and they have all the momentum.

His head got hit hard on one of the first carries.  Wonder if that was it.

Bummer for him.   :(

That's 2 for him now. The severity multiplies with each one. Not good for Eddie.

No it's not.
If he gets one or two more I'm afraid he's pretty much done.

True. He plays so hard, he doesn't know how to let up.
