Quote
The Texans fear outside linebacker Jadeveon Clowney suffered a meniscus tear Sunday against the Washington Redskins that could require arthroscopic surgery, a source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

Sources told ESPN's Ed Werder that Clowney suffered an MCL injury. He'll undergo further testing on Monday.

Clowney left the game late in the second quarter with a knee injury after landing awkwardly on the ground and did not return in the second half. Clowney looked visibly upset as he walked into the Texans' locker room with a trainer...

They just announced on NBC that it appears to be a meniscus tear, and will likely keep him sidelined 4-6 weeks.

I was afraid something like this would happen to him. He comes into the NFL hyped to the heavens and now this. I hope this is not the beginning of a career of injuries. I just don't see how he can play in 6 weeks after knee surgery and be able to pivot and move properly.

A real shame. The Texans really need him.

I can't see him coming back in 6 weeks either.  I would be surprised if he came back at all this year if it really is an MCL tear.

This morning ESPN is calling it a 'possible meniscus issue'.

Are we sure this isn't just some elaborate scheme to get out of practice?  "Hey Coach, it hurts when I practice, but if I rest for 6 days I think I can make it through the game."

Either it is torn or it isn't torn. Strange.
