Chad Lindsay's post-Alabama football career came to an unexpected close Monday.

Lindsay, who transferred to Ohio State during the summer, announced he was walking away from football after sustaining a "serious injury" during fall camp and experiencing a setback last week. Lindsay sent an e-mail to outlets that cover the Buckeyes, including Cleveland.com, to confirm his decision...

Hopefully Chad will be okay.

Maybe the Urban Meyer malaise is contagious!

I hate that it happened to him. He should have stayed at Bama.

Something really turned this guy against Alabama and gave him some type of animus toward the coaches and/or program. He's at Alabama for over 3 years, wins 2 National Championships, and this is what he has to say.

Quote
"I have had a great career and I will always be grateful for so many wonderful experiences. I would like to thank Coach Meyer, the coaching staff, players and trainers as it has been an honor to be a part of The Ohio State University football family. I wish the team great success for the remainder of the season. Go Buckeyes!"

A shame he chose to make such a jackass statement to a program that did nothing for him.

Really what is he supposed to say up there. I think he would say the same thing to us, if he were still here. I hope his injury will heal and so forth. I thought the O line was better with him in the middle last year.

I think most everyone, or at least all of the comments that I have seen, thought the line was much better when he was in there last year.  So maybe he transferred because he thought he did a better job but didn't win the starting spot.

:dunno:

I don't have a problem with his statement.  That is the team he is on now, and he was addressing the media that covers that team.

That was his team for what, 5 months, but he earned a degree at Alabama and played on NC's and he can't say ONE SINGLE positive thing about Alabama. Something isn't right and you don't show such a callous disregard for former coaches & teammates you lived around for 3 years.

I don't see why he would specifically address the team he is no longer on when talking to the media that covers his current team.  He has already left Alabama, so why would he inform the Alabama media/fan base that he is walking away from football?  Besides, I am pretty sure he was referring to his time at Alabama in the first sentence: "I have had a great career and I will always be grateful for so many wonderful experiences."  This was simply an e-mail that he sent to the Ohio State media outlets to let them know he was no longer on the team.

Wow, one whole vague sentence which MIGHT apply to Alabama then slavish, over-the-top praise for his "team" & coaches of 5 months. Again, he couldn't mention Alabama even 1 single time? I bet the fans in Ohio are scratching their heads about that, too. It's classless, period.

I'll see if I can dig it up, but he said something very similar when he left Bama.

Chad Lindsey is a classy guy.  When he left Bama, he thanked the Crimson Tide and said he had a great experience and it was an honor to play here.  Not sure how you interpreted it this way.   ???

Funny movie and I always liked Warren Oates. He was very good in Westerns, too. Too bad he dies so young.

1. I was responding to a statement he made about Ohio State.
2. I was unaware of any statement he made after leaving Alabama.
3. I do not remember everything that every coach or player says whn he leaves Alabama.
4. Did you read this thread from the start? Just wondering.

I know you guys are having fun at my expense. It's the price you pay when you express an OPINION. We all take a hit from time to time. I made a comment about a statement which made no sense to me and seemed tacky when you consider the context. Later, a statement he made when leaving Alabama surfaces, which sounds very similar to the one about Ohio State. Apparently, he was trying to be gracious both times, which means he is a classy individual.
