Title: Cecil Hurt on Duron Carter
Post by: Marshal Dillon on July 10, 2011, 11:13:50 PM
The photo of Carter makes him look a little too skinny in my book.

"If Carter can be part of a successful tandem that also includes Marquis Maze and Darius Hanks, or some other candidate) that will be contribution enough."

Disagree.  Fans expect Carter to be a star.  Anything less, skinny or not, will be disappointing.

Anyone that signs on at Bama is expected to be a star or otherwise why did Bama sign him. He is a big target but is he mentally and physically tough enough for Saban's system, only time will answer that.

That was likely coming out of high school.  Scout has him at 6-4, 210, but I've consistently seen around 205 in articles.  He's not quite Julio's size.  YET.

I looked at Rivals and was surprised they had him at 183 lbs. I thought I had read he was 205-210. I have also read that he does not have the srtength or speed of Julio but he has good hands and runs good routes. He is a move the chains receiver. I think he will fit nicely into our offensive plans.

Carter's ability to create separation is noted by many who have seen him play.  That's probably a combination of a crisp route and explosive ability.  He may have a little better lateral movement than Julio (that was definitely not his strength).
