Title: A note to Bama football.
Post by: hscoach on October 10, 2014, 08:43:11 PM
Tomorrow you will take the first step in returning to a dominant program.  The fact is you, as a team, still have the opportunity to stay in the hunt for a playoff spot.  In my opinion you have not been beaten by an opponent.  You have beat yourself.  Your team has enough talent to win the National Championship this year and tomorrow will be the first step in achieving that goal.  The game of football is a team sport.  However, this team sport is made up of many individual battles.  Each and everyone of you must be dedicated to win those battles so that the team, as a whole, can be successful.  Your fans have not given up and your coaches have not given up.  The main question is, are you man enough to work and focus enough to achieve this goal?  Are you a competitor?  Do you desire to achieve at the highest level and add you name to that list of Championship players?  I believe, along with uncountable others, in you.  You must believe that you can defeat anyone, individually and as a team, to attain this goal.  You, and only you, must focus and elimate the mistake that has cause the last loss as well as games being closer than they should.  Good Luck, but play hard and make your own luck.

Ah Ha, hscoach has revealed himself to be Pat Dye. You have had us fooled for a long time. By the way, what's your favorite whiskey?

Read this. Either you are younger than I think or you were out-of-state. It's from 2002.

Leave it to an Auburn man to add fire to a Georgia-Alabama game. In a radio interview in Birmingham, Ala., Monday, former Auburn coach Pat Dye took a much bolder stance than just predicting Alabama would beat Georgia Saturday. Said Dye on the air: I don't believe Georgia's man enough to beat Alabama.''

Nope, never heard that.  Been living in Tx since 1986.  Only get back to Bama about 3 times a year.  Maybe before long be back for good.

It caused a storm in both Alabama & Georgia. It was a set-up by Dye to motivate Georgia (his alma mater) who was the underdog to Bama. It worked, Georgia played like they were possessed and beat Bama. I never understood why the UGA fans & players were so fired up since no Tide player said anything.
Finebaum ate Dye alive for using his show to manipulate the media and the fans. After that, he would never discuss the situation and never made another such statement. When you return to Alabama, where do you plan to live? Good luck on that.

I am looking at the areas from Spainsh Fort to Foley.  Got to see what I may be able to do down there.

Whoa, you're looking to do some serious retiring. Spanish Fort is like the 6th or 7th richest town in Alabama (based on income average). Foley is nice, too. I want to retire to Nashville area, where I have a kid & grandkids. I prefer Alabama but it's hard to stay away from family, but Nashville area is a nice place.

My brother also is thinking about those areas.  He likes to fish and I like to play golf.  He says he is taking up golf and I am going to start fishing.  He is in Ga right now.  My mom and dad are still in Bama.

You're in the right place to play golf. I think there is a Robert Trent Jones course in the area, plus a couple nice courses in Foley/Spanish Fort.

Excellent post hscoach.  I have no idea why the Pat Dye thing came up; agree with you that Bama stands at the open door of greatness.  Today they can walk through that door to begin a new championship run.  Thanks for posting.

BTW, I had a house in Fairhope until just a few years ago.  Love Fairhope.  If I had to move back to that part of God's country, I'd either live in Fairhope or Magnolia Springs.  Wonderful part of the world!

ROLL TIDE.
