Title: "FSU Looks Into Winston Autographs"

Quote
"The items that I've seen signed by Todd Gurley and Jameis Winston, which have been authenticated by JSA, look like they came from an autograph signing," said Martin Buckley, co-owner of Palm Beach Autographs in Florida, which has done signings with Heisman Trophy winners Tim Tebow, Herschel Walker and Charlie Ward, among others. "This is based on the items themselves being similar, the quantities of those items, the consistency of signature as well as similar spots in which they signed."

Just a little something to take our minds off blaming, griping, complaining, and special teams... :lol2:

I have my doubts about this autograph thing sticking ...

1) can Winston spell his own name ? very doubtful  :dunno:

2) if he did sign  would it look like this ?   :dunno:

I'm sure with FSU "heading this off" means destroying and hiding evidence before it gets public.

Is FSU handling the Jameis Winston story properly? @dannykanell: "It took way too long to get to this point" #CFBLive

I wondered why CNS trying to get this guy. Well now we know. He knew what this guy was before he ever started. We have the most educated in common sense coach in America. RTR!

http://www.al.com/sports/index.ssf/2013/12/why_didnt_jameis_winston_sign.html

Ricky, Coach Saban recruited Jameis Winston hard.  Read the old article (above).  CNS and Coach Sunseri did a home visit, and did a good job of recruiting him.  And Coach Saban even agreed to Jameis playing baseball at Alabama during spring practice.

But the decision came down to timing.  Jameis would be redshirted at either FSU (behind EJ Manuel) or Alabama (behind AJ McCarron).  But he'd play as a RS freshman at FSU.  At Alabama he'd still be on the bench as a RS freshman (when AJ was a senior).  That made the decision, not Coach Saban's great intuition.

Better question: Is Coach Saban sorry he missed on Jameis?

Good article. Thanks Chechem for straightening me out. See even the preacher needs a jolt of reality in the college football world. Love it. RTR!

The offers for Winston continued to pile up. Before his junior year, Winston and his parents instructed college coaches to go only though Scott at the high school.

It was a trick: Jameis and Antonor wanted to see which coach would be bold enough to break the rules. The first person to try to contact the family was then-FSU assistant Dameyune Craig.

Antonor:"Which one of those recruiters are going to be bold enough to say, 'Enough of this coach. His mom and dad had him, I'm gonna go find the mom and dad?' Most recruiters are going to respect what the coach tells you. 'Family doesn't want you to talk to them right now, they just want you to talk to me and all this here.' So if you fall for that, how bad to you really want him?"

"Dameyune was the one who really said, 'Wait a minute. I'm not going to be in there going through this coach and the dad is in there walking past.'"

"I always knew. Whichever coach broke away from coach Scott and came to me, that's the one he was going to give the most attention to. It could have been Miles College, and that's the team that wanted him. When Dameyune came, I knew it would be Florida State. Kids can swap and flip or whatever, but when Dameyune came I felt, 'OK, they're first.'

A Sports Illustrated reporter (Michael McCann) was just on Feinbaum discussing the Jameis story.  He doesn't think anything will come of it.

But I caution you, the internal-disciplinary hearing is not a court of law.  It's senior faculty and staff reviewing Jameis' behavior.  I do not think he'll get off without some sort of discipline (suspended or dismissed).

I have no doubt in their (FSU faculty) integrity. He will be hammered and suspended starting in March 2015.
