Title: 10 great Crimson Tide plays
Post by: 2Stater on July 15, 2011, 02:44:02 PM
I was trying to find a video clip of Keith Jackson saying "Touchdown Alabama", when I stumbled upon this. It's from 2007, but very good clips of 10 of Bama's greatest plays. Enjoy.

Never get tired of seeing Biscuit give Mr. Buerlein a taste of the Legion Field dirt. I was at that game, and I remember that pacle was going crazy.

I was in my recliner watching that game, but came straight up out of it on that hit. My wife thought I was nuts. I told her that was the hardest, baddest hit I had ever seen in my life.
(She still thought I was nuts  :-[)

My favorite is still Van Tiffin's kick to beat the barn.

We were at my grandparents' house watching that one. I was 10 years old, and I remember nearly hitting the ceiling as I jumped off the couch celebrating. That was a great day.

I watched that game with my brother, who is an Auburn grad., my wife, who is a barner fan and my mother, a Bama fan. To make a long story short, after the kick, my mother and I were jumping up & down hugging each other. When we turned around, my wife & brother were gone. I went outside and they were walking down the street in opposite directions...fuming...IT WAS GREAT!

The best game I have ever seen in my life was "The Kick" in the 85 Iron Bowl. The game was back and forth. The crowd was split 50/50 in those days. Most people remember the kick because it was a 53 yarder which was very rare for that time. The kick would have never happened without two great plays. Bama ran a reverse to Al Bell and Mike Shula make a fantastic blind side block to give Bell the corner for a big first down gain. We still needed more yards. Shula threw over the middle to Richardson and he drug a guy 10 yards to get out of bounds to stop the clock. Tiffin nails the kick and the rest is history. What a game.

"The Strip" was on a penalty but so what. "The Catch"  became even more instilled in Bama lore due to the way Prothro's career ended.

That was awesome, too. The guy in the article said he was 2 years old when the Bama goal line stand against Penn State happened and he didn''t remember it, therefore, all these videos are during his lifetime that he remembers.
