Title: Coop's first TD Post by: bamalum67 on October 27, 2014, 07:58:51 PM OK, I've looked at the video on the first TD by Coop several times, what I see is the Tenn defenders who were chasing him..WERE NOT RUNNING FULL SPEED..yes, Coop is fast, but if you look at the video again look at no 34,,he was behind Coop, and it looks to me he was half-*ssed running..nothing full speed.. now, to me, to not give 100% should be reason to be kicked to the curb..More to the point, i don't think Butch has any players with the killer instinct...And IMHO, as long as you got players who can't/won't give you 100%, you will be a loser.

It was the first play of the game, so it is odd that #34 didn't seem to be sprinting full bore. Then again, he was behind Amari from the time the ball was thrown, and positioned himself to make the tackle had Amari cut back instead of staying along the sidelines. Interesting. ??? Title: Re: Coop's first TD Post by: Catch Prothro on October 28, 2014, 08:03:33 AM He knew he was never going to catch Cooper from behind once Coop made the corner. No 34 is a linebacker, not a corner or safety. That might have been his full speed, at least initially.
Title: Re: Coop's first TD Post by: SUPERCOACH on October 28, 2014, 08:20:56 AM It's like the tortoise and the hare. #34 was just hoping #9 decided to take a nap at the 5 yard line.
#9 runs a 4.2 40 Title: Re: Coop's first TD Post by: pmull on October 28, 2014, 08:37:26 AM I doubt Butch Jones kicks #34 to the curb too quick. He is a 230 lb LB. He is a sophomore who has started all 19 games since he has been on campus. He is second on the team with 63 tackles (8/game) and 8th in the SEC. He also has 2 sacks, 2 fumble recoveries and 1 INT.
I think he knew once Coop got a step on him the race was over. Title: Re: Coop's first TD Post by: bamalum67 on October 28, 2014, 04:37:05 PM Pmull..I still think he was sandbagging.
Title: Re: Coop's first TD Post by: Chechem on October 28, 2014, 04:44:27 PM Pmull..I still think he was sandbagging. I'm not pmull, but just can't think of him sandbagging during the first play from scrimmage. It makes no sense. Why would he?? Title: Re: Coop's first TD Post by: 2Stater on October 28, 2014, 05:03:03 PM He was beat and he knew it. I don't think he was sandbagging either.
