Wailing and gnashing of teeth.  >:(
Barn over us?!  :o

Just more motivation for us to "wail" on the barn.

Notre Dame at #10 really surprises me. I'm not sure why Ole Miss is in, fresh off of a loss to LSU. And the barn? WTH is that???????  :dunno: :dunno: :dunno:

I had to rewind it because I missed seeing the 5th and 6th picks. Oregon #5 and Bama #6 is absolutely ridiculous!!!

Why is everyone so upset, we all should know by now that Bama will have to win their way into the playoffs, there won't be any getting voted in for them.

Also remember that there is no bias involved with the folks doing the selections. :eyeroll:

Nothing has changed when it comes down to selections, there are toooooo many people that want Bama out of the picture.

all speculation and a practice run for the committee.  We win out and the speculation is over! RTR!

When we beat #1 and #3 they won't be able to leave us out.

Personally I'm kind of glad they left us out of the first one as it gives the team some motivation.  But does anyone honestly think Auburn has looked better than Bama?

Agree with both points.

Let's see just how hungry our guys really are.

Looks like the SEC is well-represented in this practice run.

Looks like Bama has its fate in its own hands, based on this practice run.

Looks like Notre Dame better join a conference.  :lol2:

At least we know what they think of the B1G. They were spot on with them.

"Have" or "Hate"  ???

Based on this poll, I think Bama is in if it wins out.

Hopefully this unleashes the monster that exists within the team.  I'm happy we are out of the top 4 with the chance to destroy two of the top 4 (and two of the others with two losses built in).

Hopefully this unleashes the monster that exists within the team in all four quarters for the rest of the games.  I'm happy we are out of the top 4 with the chance to destroy two of the top 4 (and two of the others with two losses built in).

I agree , but with a little addition

This is just like the BCS. It is too early to get concerned about the Top 4. It will take care of itself. All we need to do is keep winning and we will move up a spot or two each week. If any of the 1 loss teams, Bama included, loses a 2nd game they will be eliminated.

Agree, pmull.

Here's a thought about this week, though.
I know it's a committee vote, prolly secret ballot, so the rankings result from ballots, not discussion.
Think about Alabama (#6) and Ole Miss (#4):
1. Ole Miss was given much credit for its win over Powerful Alabama.  Not much concern about losing to #20 LSU in Death Valley.
2. But Alabama lost to #3, lowly Ole Miss, so Alabama was dropped.  No credit that Bama lost on the road to a top-5 team.  NONE.

See the irony??  Probably a glimpse into Alabama hate and SEC fatigue.  We'll need to win our way in, for sure!

I agree that it makes little sense to put Ole Miss ahead of Bama.  It looks like the committee looks more at who a team beats than who they lose to, at least to some extent.  That's why Auburn is ranked so high, everyone making a big deal over their lucky victory over KSU.

But if Bama beats LSU, Auburn and MS State, they can't keep us out, based on their initial rankings.  If Bama loses again, though, it's over.

It did not surprise me we were not in the Top 4 for the very reasons you mentioned. Everyone thinks we got a mulligan in 2011 and got to the Championship Game rematch with LSU without winning our conference. Every golfer knows you only get one mulligan. Regardless of the Alabama hate if we keep winning it will take care of itself.

This 4 team playoff has kept all the 1 loss teams alive. I would not like where we are sitting in the 2 team BCS but I like where we are sitting in the 4 team playoff.

And this is really what we need to take from it all. The committee is gonna committee, but we're in pretty good shape for the 4 team playoff. We would be ever more so on the outside looking in, with the BCS format.

Every team in America would kill for a shot the #1, #4, and #16 team to wind up their season. We have that opportunity. Having declared MSU and OM as top 4 teams, they would be hard pressed to leave us out of the mix if we run the table, even if OM survives with just 1 loss. If we loss a game between now and the end we don't deserve to be in the playoffs. Period.

Right, in the BCS it would be FSU and then probably SEC Champ, although they could sneak in Oregon instead.

I'm glad there isn't much Notre Dame love.  I don't think that team has much impact on the committee, as they aren't part of any conference, and most of the committee members are.

Even Lou Holtz, with his emphasis on Conference Champions, admitted that ND should join a conference.

What a funny arrangement they have with the ACC.  They play for the basketball title but not football, although they are going to play seven ACC football teams a year.
