Title: ESPN has Oklahoma beating Bama for NC

Of course, it's just their simulation. We'll be happy to meet the Sooners on the real field and reverse this fantasy.

No Big 12 Championship game this year? If so, they (OU) will be a facing a 6 week layoff until the NCG. Couple that with the experience the Tide will get from the SECCG and of course playing an SEC sched and I do not see this happening. JMHO TIFWIW

I don't get the love for OK this year.  IF they can survive a road game at Florida State, then we'll talk.  (Rest of their schedule is manageable, easy by SEC standards).

I too, am not sure where the Spinach came from for Okla. to be good enough to beat Alabama? They a QB and a WR that is pretty good BUT we have a Defensive Backfiled that will be ready for them both. Holding TR to 96 yds, who says? TR does more than that in practice along, against a great defense. Well let's line-up and do it for real. RTR!

Without a proven QB, Bama is lucky to be a preseason top 5.  Now, before I receive a "insta-ban" for saying that, let me explain.
First, being ranked high enough to be in the NCG is all that matters. Winning the SEC almost assures that. Second, we know that Tide runs an offense that relies more on upfront blocking than a golden armed 30.06 gunslinger. The rest of the football world doesn't seem to know it. But our offense is much the same as last year, only minus a Heisman RB and a AA receiver, if you were happy with last year. I was not. Then and third, defensively we are hoping that the secondary continues to improve and the line starts beating up on QBs. While they held teams overall to 13 pts a game, it seemed  much of the "O" put up against us came in bunches.  Case in point the IB. So if you were happy with 2 qtrs of "lock down" defense you'll enjoy 2011.  I was not.

To make a long and stupid argument even longer and more stupid, you (anyone picking the Tide #1) seem to think 2011 will simply be a continuation of the bowl game, rather than a continuation of the 2010 season.  RTR

Bama had it's healthiest team against MSU. I think it will all boil down to that again this year; can they stay healthy? If yes, then that game was a microcosm of what it will be in 2011. Experience, player growth, depth should all be favorable variables to an improved team. JMHO.
