Title: LSU thoughts
Post by: hscoach on November 06, 2014, 12:43:40 PM
I don't know how you all feel, but I feel like this is a game like going into the NC game vs LSU.  They have a strong running attack but a suspect passing attack.  Can Bama put pressure on the QB with 4.  I watched last years game last night.  The safeties for Bama filled the holes well and Bama tackled well as a whole.  I also worry about the health of key players in this game.  You thoughts.

Agree. LSU uses the same formula: strong running game, excellent front 4, and hard-hitting. We have to get some major passing yards to make their D back off from loading up the box.

From what I've heard they have good db's so we may have to pound the ball by letting our stallions run for a while to back the db's off the line so we can throw.  I am not convinced that they can run the ball on us like Arkansas did and they don't have much of a passing game.  I think we beat them by about 7-10 points.

I think we beat them without too much trouble if we keep our composure.  If we play with a lot of anxiety, then it will be a toss up.

LSU will be prepared and play one of their better games. I just don't think they are as strong as they have been. If we play well I expect a comfortable win. LSU will be dangerous if we hurt ourselves with penalties and turnovers allowing them to hang close in the 4th quarter.

Kinda think this game will be close at the half, and if so, Bama will begin to pull away in the 3rd qtr.  Then we need to put it out of reach early in the 4th and keep the door slammed shut.  If the team stays focused and plays like they are capable of playing, this will be a big, decisive win.

But it is an SEC road game in a hostile environment.

I'll be happy with a win.

Cam is cleared to play. That is very good news, so long as he isn't coming back too early. We really need him on the O line!!!

I hope we can get  a comfortable lead so Cam can be held out.  Worst thing would be a re-injury.  We need all the healthy bodies we can get for MSU.  I'm worried that game will be a war of attrition.

BR is a tough place to play.

At night it is absurd.  It has gotten more civil.

By that I mean people do not throw empty liquor bottles at entering opposing fans from the upper sections of the stadium anymore.

BR is the only place I know of where multiple people have bad things happen to them b/c they were BAMA fans and some of that dates back to the 80's and 90's before the Saban-hate.

Rocks and bottles thrown at team bus, rocks and bottles thrown at fans, unprovoked physical assaults, a 3 year-old, or two, giving you the finger, vandalized cars, etc.

The only thing worth a darn on that entire campus is "Walk ons" restaurant.
