On the play clock, in my opinion I believe the coaching staff relieved him of that duty early in the season.  It is one less thing for him to worry about.  Then CNS watches the clock and calls the timeout if we need to.

We can't give them good field position on special teams. If we can do that we'll be in good shape.

You can tell Sims watches the play clock by his reactions when time starts running down, but the coaching staff worried about the Timeout -- have we seen Sims call a TO this year?

NALT, it's difficult for me to post a lot during a Bama game, too. Especially, when I have 15 people texting me about the game, plus, I usually have a house full of people over to watch it. I'm just glad Bama ended up having more focus at the end than I did.

It's been a great day. Barn burned to the ground, the Domers are in purgatory, and we won a slobber knocker against a very good LSU in OT.

It's listed as on ESPN2 now, but they must be awaiting the Oregon game.   :dunno:

I DVR it and set it to record for an extra hour and a half because it rarely starts on time.  But that is just a backup plan because I usually stay up and watch it.

And I think Ohio State won.  That should put a stop to all of the Michigan State talk, and with the embarrassing loss Ohio State had to a pathetic Virginia Tech team, that should do it for the Big Ten.

I heard a discussion on Sirius radio.  Said that 'since the OSU loss was just after they lost Braxton Miller, the committee wouldn't put much weight in it' (paraphrased).

Would you expect OSU to get strong consideration if they win the conference championship now?

Me personally, no. Weakest of all the Power 5 conferences. Even weaker than the ACC.

That's the most salient point, Jamos.  Blake Sims gives us his all every game, and he works hard to improve each week.  Wish all players did so!

Agreed. It is not an exact comparison and he will only have season to show this kind of ethic, but something about his leadership reminds me a little of Pat Trammell. Not the flashiest player and perhaps not the most talented, but he does what he needs to help his team achieve victory.

On a positive note, Rece Davis was calling Blake Sims "Big Hero 6".  Awesome nickname, and very fitting after last night.

This team has about 90% of the talent of last year, but about twice the heart.  I can't wait to see what they do next.
