Title: Alabama shows it simply 'knows how to win' with resilient comeback at LSU

Alabama?

"We were built to beat a team like LSU," Saban said. All the gassers and weights in the dead of summer were aimed toward this chilly night, where "you better butt the guy in the throat," Saban said.

Asked if he prefers it that way, he said, "I love it."

It was like 2 heavyweight boxers. They kept hammering and hammering us with the run in the second half, and incredibly enough, they never wore us down. We survived every blow. We delivered the counter punch at the end of regulation, and then the knockout punch (previously used on the fat lady), to secure the win.

Lsu played a good game. That might be as good as they have played all year. But there is a difference in playing well and winning. We made the plays we had to make when the game was on the line. We showed great composure on the last drive in regulation with 1:00 to play. We over came two costly penalties in OT by Leon Brown. This was the type game we could have let slip away. We could have quit after the Yeldon fumble. Give our players credit for fighting through the adversary and finding a way to win the game. Very few teams win at Dead Valley on a Saturday Night.

Correction DEAF Valley not dead. The stat they kept show was LSU 49-3 in night games under Miles. No one has done as well as we have in Baton Rouge.

Remember the old saying:  The Tide doesn't loose in Baton Rouge.

Guess it's still true.

I hope LSU gets into a bowl game against one of the hotshot HUNH teams and just runs, runs, runs at them.  That would be interesting.
