Title: Paracommandos fly into Bryant-Denny Stadium Post by: pmull on November 16, 2014, 08:35:00 PM Prior to kickoff three Paracommandos parachute into BDS. The first had an American flag, second had an Alabama script 'A' flag and the third had a POW flag. All three made a perfect landing on the 50 yard line. Pretty cool stuff.

The camera was on the second jumper. You can hear the crowd from his microphone when the first jumper enters the stadium. The third jumper had a trail of red smoke. The wide-angled lens pushes everything away, making the stadium look farther away than it is, so you miss some of the tight-squeeze feeling of dropping into the stadium. But it's still great. :worship: :worship: Title: Re: Paracommandos fly into Bryant-Denny Stadium Post by: N.AL-Tider on November 17, 2014, 06:36:19 AM Those guys are incredible. My boys and I went to the Music City Bowl game a few years ago when Miss St. was playing in it. The wind was up really strong and the jumpers left the plane they were blown away from the stadium. I thought there was no way they could bring themselves back in but sure enough, a couple minutes into their jump they brought it right back in there. The first one had the American flag and his spotter on the ground met him at mid-field and caught the flag, keeping it from touching the ground. The second one came in right behind him also with a perfect landing. My hat's off for those guys for their ability.
Makes me scratch my head though as to why anyone would intentionally jump out of a perfectly good plane... ??? |
