This is just ridiculous and shows the blatant favortism for the Big Ten still exists. If this was Alabama, LSU, or Georgia, they woud be toast.

The argument from tOSU is that the underlying matter was not that serious. I say you don't get to pick and chose which rules to follow.

"Considering the institution's rules education and monitoring efforts, the enforcement staff did not believe a failure to monitor charge was appropriate in this case," the NCAA said in the letter sent Thursday.

There has to be money exchanged to drop major violations.

Technically I guess this is correct.

Failure to monitor:  There was no failure to monitor.  They knew exactly what was going on, they just lied to the whole world about it.

Lack of institutional control:  No lack of control either.  They were in full control of the situation and lied intentionally.  This wasn't someone outside the institution that could not be controlled, like a rogue booster.  This was the institution in full control of this situation.

Well, since you put it that way, then the NCAA is right.    :o

NZAA was already a joke, now they have zero credibility.

I don't care what they charge them with as long as the punishment is severe. The NCAA needs to hit them hard or they will lose what little credibility they have left.

Yeah, they're still going to get nailed with a loss of schollys, but now I wonder how many it will be. It should be 30 (like USC) but now I'm not so sure. Surely, they won't get off with just losing 15. The NCAA love of the Big Ten may save OSU a heavy hit.

For the first time since the emails became public, I too am wondering if tOSU is going to get what they deserve. With the SEC monopolizing college football isn't helping anything either. You know how these d-bags (NCAA) feel about parity.

Let's check the SUPERCOACH dictionary and see what it says about parity:

par·i·ty noun \ˈper-ə-tē, ˈpa-rə-\

when Alabama kicks all azzes equally.
ex.  NCAA football will have a lot of parity this year since Alabama will win every game they play 56 to 0.
