Title: "Michigan Reaches Out to Miles" Post by: Bamaphile on December 09, 2014, 09:35:47 PM http://michigan.247sports.com/Bolt/Michigan-Reaches-Out-To-Miles-33726702
I think that a lot of us figured this was bound to happen sooner or later. Does he stay or does he go? :popcorn2: Title: Re: "Michigan Reaches Out to Miles" Post by: 2Stater on December 09, 2014, 10:18:55 PM I think he stays. He's a little long in the tooth and it doesn't make sense for him to start all over again. Also, even though this year's team wasn't up to usual LSU standards, they are very young and talented and should be very good next year.
Michigan is a hot mess. Title: Re: "Michigan Reaches Out to Miles" Post by: ricky023 on December 09, 2014, 10:56:06 PM I don't think Miles will ever leave. I do however, think if he could win regular it would be better than the SEC where he has to dig and scratch for each yard they get, where at Michigan he would only have to be tosu and play for a national title every year. RTR!

Miles is 60, plus I doubt John Chavis, the DC & main man at LSU would go with him. :dog: Title: Re: "Michigan Reaches Out to Miles" Post by: Chechem on December 10, 2014, 05:23:59 AM Paycheck leverage.
Title: Re: "Michigan Reaches Out to Miles" Post by: 2Stater on December 10, 2014, 06:05:49 AM Paycheck leverage. Didn't this happen a couple years ago? LSU gave him a raise and Meechigan went with Hoke. Title: Re: "Michigan Reaches Out to Miles" Post by: Chechem on December 10, 2014, 06:19:06 AM Paycheck leverage. Didn't this happen a couple years ago? LSU gave him a raise and Meechigan went with Hoke. Prolly. I can't remember what happened Monday. :dunno: Most salient point of this thread: NOBODY can predict Les Miles' behavior. But this is likely his last, best opportunity to escape Louisiana and return to his roots. He might go, might not, or might not even know if he does! :lol2: Title: Re: "Michigan Reaches Out to Miles" Post by: 2Stater on December 10, 2014, 06:29:37 AM Paycheck leverage. As long as this questions lingers, it will have some impact on recruiting. Title: Re: "Michigan Reaches Out to Miles" Post by: Marshal Dillon on December 10, 2014, 12:17:48 PM Paycheck leverage. Since 2011, Miles has gone 10-3, 10-3, & 8-4. I think he can forget the paycheck leverage. Plus, he just turned 61. Title: Re: "Michigan Reaches Out to Miles" Post by: N.AL-Tider on December 10, 2014, 02:27:05 PM Paycheck leverage. Since 2011, Miles has gone 10-3, 10-3, & 8-4. He is in a strong position to have a good team in 2015, if he will get a QB. Title: Re: "Michigan Reaches Out to Miles" Post by: Chechem on December 10, 2014, 03:49:56 PM Finebaum:
Michigan is looking hard at Harbaugh. Desmond Howard is pushing for Harbaugh, and it looks like Michigan isn't looking anywhere else until that option is settled. http://www.mlive.com/wolverines/index.ssf/2014/12/desmond_howard_says_if_he_were.html Title: Re: "Michigan Reaches Out to Miles" Post by: 2Stater on December 10, 2014, 03:54:24 PM Finebaum: Michigan is looking hard at Harbaugh. They might just get him. Title: Re: "Michigan Reaches Out to Miles" Post by: ricky023 on December 10, 2014, 05:14:12 PM Harbaugh would be a good fit for them in my opinion. Maybe being a graduate from there he might bring some pride back. If nothing else he might be tosu and that would keep him a salary for years to come. RTR!
Title: Re: "Michigan Reaches Out to Miles" Post by: Marshal Dillon on December 10, 2014, 05:57:32 PM I think he gets the Raiders or Redskins job, most likely the Raiders. He is divorced & his kids are in the Bay Area.

For years Bama only wanted one of "Bear's boys" and with the exception of Stallings it didn't turn out well. Of course Curry was the odd man out (in more ways than one). It was when they decided that Bama man or not, the best coach available is the one to get. We can see how that turned out in the best way possible.
Michigan needs to follow that path. They don't need to get a "Michigan man" - they need the best coach available. He already has enough dysfunction with the 49ers to have to deal with the epitome of NFL dysfunction in Washington. I would be surprised if he was in Michigan next season, but also never thought Mike Riley would be at Nebraska, so..... :dunno: |
