Title: Wisconsin Football & Why Coaches Leave
Post by: Marshal Dillon on December 13, 2014, 05:48:19 PM
Seems like Wisconsin thinks they are too good to take care of their coaches.

More and more details are emerging about Gary Andersen’s unhappiness at Wisconsin that led him to leave the Badgers program for Oregon State.

Not only was Andersen frustrated with the academic restrictions and lack of pay for his assistants, but there were other things like broken promises that upset him.

Sounds like anyone who doesn't do it Barry Alvarez's way is going to find it tough sledding there. I think the best thing for Wisconsin would be for him to be ousted as AD. The guy named himself as coach for the bowl game, for crying out loud.

He did that again?  He did the same thing when the last coach left for Arkansas, if I remember correctly.

Alvarez also returned to the sideline to coach the Badgers in the 2013 Rose Bowl after former coach Bret Bielema announced that he was leaving to coach at Arkansas.

Bielema had similar reasons for leaving Wisconsin for Arkansas.

Maybe he enjoys the swag bags that players and coaches receive for their bowl appearances.  ;)

Only problem is that most of those bags don't have a free Hair Club for Men membership card.
