Title: Re: "Alabama handled Ohio State in 1978 Sugar Bowl, but it wasn't enough to get Crimson Tide nationa Post by: 2Stater on December 29, 2014, 07:08:05 AM Quote Bryant's Alabama team controlled the game from start to finish, winning 35-6 over Hayes and the Buckeyes and capping off a 1977 season with an 11-1 record. The Crimson Tide entered the game ranked No. 3 and OSU No. 8. I remember that game like it was yesterday. ND beat Texas and leap frogged us by 2 spots to take the NC. Just another year I thought we were ripped off by the ND lovers. Bama won handily. Notre Dame is easy to hate! >:( Title: Re: "Alabama handled Ohio State in 1978 Sugar Bowl, but it wasn't enough to get Crimson Tide nationa Post by: 2Stater on December 29, 2014, 09:19:16 AM Quote Bryant's Alabama team controlled the game from start to finish, winning 35-6 over Hayes and the Buckeyes and capping off a 1977 season with an 11-1 record. Stephenson, etc., should have won the 1977 National Championship and were a better team than the 1978 team. :dog: |
