Bryant's Alabama team controlled the game from start to finish, winning 35-6 over Hayes and the Buckeyes and capping off a 1977 season with an 11-1 record. The Crimson Tide entered the game ranked No. 3 and OSU No. 8.

I remember that game like it was yesterday. ND beat Texas and leap frogged us by 2 spots to take the NC. Just another year I thought we were ripped off by the ND lovers.

Yep, true.  I lived in Virginia back then, and eagerly watched the game.

I watched the 12-min version on the link this morning.  Bama won handily.
Notre Dame is easy to hate!   >:(

BINGO!!  I have always thought the 1977 team with Ozzie, J. Rutledge, Legg, B. Krause, Cryder, Nathan, Wingo, D. Stephenson, etc., should have won the 1977 National Championship and were a better team than the 1978 team.
