I hadn't realized that Slive had or hadn't approved immediate PT for him. So, did Slive indeed get involved in Forcier? Usually players from other conferences are allowed immediate PT, I thought. The only ones who wait a year are within the SEC, right? Going by SEC rules, he should have declared cm ineligible. The NCAA rules on family members differ so they declared he can play. Slive should have inforced the SEC rules but did not.
FIY…the NCAA rules on transfer player is if you transfer from one D1 school to another D1 school the player must set out a year, unless there are mitigating circumstances like a family emergency. If a school does not give that player a “release” they can’t be on scholarship at the new school while they sit out a year. This is how some schools can keep players from transferring to rival schools, by using the scholarship as leverage.
