Forcier started for the Wolverines in 2009 before slipping on the depth chart and in the classroom. He backed up Denard Robinson in eight games last season before announcing in January that he was leaving Michigan.

Wasn't the barn after his services?

This just keeps gettin' better. The barn was hot & heavy after Russell Wilson. They didn't get him. Now they don't get Forcier.

It wasn't the NCAA that permitted him to play it was the SEC's Slive. The NCAA had no rule concerning the family member shopping but the SEC did.

LOL.  I was just joking around; you interpreted it as a pertinent comment.  Funny, and thanks.  I hadn't realized that Slive had or hadn't approved immediate PT for him.  So, did Slive indeed get involved in Forcier?  Usually players from other conferences are allowed immediate PT, I thought.  The only ones who wait a year are within the SEC, right?

Maybe I am confusing the OSU case with the Scam case but I thought the NCAA cleared $cam to play in post season. Both cases relied merely on info sent by the schools and had yet to be investigated by NCAA. I am thinking now that Jamos is on target.

More coffee.  I must be lost.  I thought Jamos meant that the SEC was involved in Forcier's decision.  Reading it again, you (MW) are on the right track.  Oops.

This is where Slive, at least to me, has lost all credibility. Going by SEC rules, he should have declared cm ineligible. The NCAA rules on family members differ so they declared he can play. Slive should have inforced the SEC rules but did not.

FIY…the NCAA rules on transfer player is if you transfer from one D1 school to another D1 school the player must set out a year, unless there are mitigating circumstances like a family emergency. If a school does not give that player a “release” they can’t be on scholarship at the new school while they sit out a year. This is how some schools can keep players from transferring to rival schools, by using the scholarship as leverage.

This goes back to a ruling by NCAA prior to the MSU involvement.  ???
