Title: Auburn loses in OT to Wisconsin off missed FG
Post by: 2Stater on January 01, 2015, 11:07:14 AM
Talk about mixed feelings.  :-\

I'm really conflicted on who I want to win. SEC West needs to save some face, but I hate Auburn.

Same ship, different day for the SEC West. Wisky up 7-0.

At this point we can only salvage this thing by winning the Natty. Anything short and everyone will rightly wonder why we got a slot by playing teams that got waxed by teams from presumably inferior conferences.

A resounding Wisky win will serve two purposes. One it will bring us all the sort of raw mean-spirited joy that only an Aubarn loss can provide, and second, it may make the Ohio State players feel like beating Alabama will come easily.

I am going to hate myself for picking the boogers. They look disinterested.

I want the SEC to do well too but I just can't bring myself to pull for the Barners or Volunqueers.  As far as the SECwest is concerned, LSU, OM, and Miss St have already tarnished us.  I think Bama needs to win the NC in order to save face for the SECw.

With the exception of Arky and A&M, every team in the West had an expectation of making the playoffs. The ones who didn't won their bowl games, and the ones who did but failed to achieve that goal have lost their bowl games badly. LSU is a marginal case and lost in a close game. I wonder if the level of physical and emotional intensity required is so great that it is unsustainable when all that is at stake is a consolation prize.

There is always attrition in the SEC. I think that played a large part in those losses.

The only team not showing enthusiasm & energy from the SEC was Ole Miss. The SEC has a target on its back & every team thinks if they beat an SEC team means they are equal to the SEC. Of course, beating 1 SEC team ain't the same as playing 8 of them in a season.

A perfectly thrown bomb to Ricardo Lewis puts the barn up 14-7.

Matt Millen has the most irritating voice.  :wall:

turning into a good game, 21-17 Wisc with 12 left, auburn driving.

I could never root for the boogers although they are probably a better team.

Go badgers.

With a 6.5 point line, it looks like Wisconsin might be the right pick.  I just couldn't make that pick with Wisconsin missing their Head Coach.

TD Wisconsin to take the lead again, 28-24 with 8 minutes left.

Missouri losing 14-13 in the Third Quarter.  Minn muffs the punt return, Missouri bass around the Minnesota 30

29 seconds left.  Wisconsin Timeout.  Wisconsin is now in FG range for the tie.

Twenty seconds left, Wisconsin on the 11 yard line.

Guess I'm rooting for a FG so the game goes to OT and maybe the Barn can cover after all.

That, or a pick 6.  :eyeroll:

31-31 7 seconds, heading to OT probably

Wisconsin gets the ball first in OT.  That increases the likelihood of them being the winning pick.  Barn can't cover unless they get the ball first.  Double OT?

W gets FG, 34-31 W

Boogers turn, td wins it

That's not true, they cant cover now that wisc scored, but they dont have to go first to cover
