Title: Finally Some Good News ( work related) Post by: rueben on July 27, 2011, 09:41:12 PM Just got the official word, I have ebbn accepted to Tatcitcal ( SWAT) Medic Class.
Should be fun. WIll be a lot more fun if I get over this fx rib / torn muscle. I really didn't think that I would get chosen, as they were talking about choosing by rank, in reverse order. We have three other guys already trained as SWAT Medic. Basically they train with SWAT, when SWAT dies their training. They are accepted as a member of the SWAT Team. They,as a regular fire / medic come in to duty as normal. If, while on duty SWAT gets a call, they will leave the engine company, and meet up / respond with SWAT. Although SOP varies by location, here, The medic makes entry with the rest of the team. Hopefully that will be the same case with those of us who go threw this class. Now just pray I make it threw, and excell in this class. I really need to get some intense workouts in, but the rib says "NO!" I really need to be running an obstacle / confidence course right now.
