Title: Bama's Backfield
Post by: crtuneman on July 29, 2011, 08:17:38 AM
I was thinking about this yesterday after realizing we have no depth at RB. Is there anyone else on the roster that might move to RB? I know Calloway will most likely start there, and Blake Sims might be another option. But is there anyone else they could move? We have so many WRs, maybe someone could move from there. What about Deandrew White? He's got great speed. Does anyone know if he played R in HS? Or maybe Ronald Carswell. Here's a crazy thought. Chris Jordan was a highly-touted RB in HS. What if we moved him back? How cool would it be to have another 6-3 240 pd rb like Fowler? JUst speculating. I know the coaches will work it out. What do you guys think?

You've got a point there. There are so many exceptional athletes on this team, that I don't think they would have any problem filling that slot if needed, with someone from another position. There would likely be little, if any, drop off in RB talent if they did that.

Blake Sims will likely play the role of Hart this year for speed-necessary plays.  I heard that somewhere (another forum or Media Days).

To my knowledge our backfield numbers look like this:
Trent Richardson
Eddie Lacy
Jason Jalston Fowler
Brent Calloway
Black Blake Sims
2 walk ons

Edited with apologies by Cat.

Not trying to be the grammar/ spelling nazi here, but it's Jalston Fowler, not Jason Fowler as some have posted.

I spelled it right, I just had his name wrong.  :( Thanks for correcting me. I would still be calling Jason otherwise. I did misspell Blake. Other than that it was a good post.  :o

Good for laughs. ;D

Maybe the folks at Athletics can't spell Black's name either.

I can't spell or use proper grammar. I often get my facts wrong. But I post a lot, that could count for something.  :-[

The athletic dept. spells Blake Sims name correctly--1 "M". On the other hand-- Black Simms spells his with 2. Got it?

Sounds great. The women are cutting/peeling apples. Been eating all morning. First two ripe peaches today. My Mortgage Lifter tomatos are still a month away from vine ripe, so let's change the subject.
