Title: Johnny Manziel Enters Treatment
Post by: Marshal Dillon on February 02, 2015, 10:45:38 AM
Another strange event in the matter of Johnny Manziel. Good luck with this knucklehead.

Quote
Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel entered treatment on Wednesday with the goal of being a "better family member, friend and teammate," according to his publicist who released a statement via Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer.

The nature of Manziel's treatment hasn't been specified, although the decision to enter treatment was not related to the quarterback's life on the football field.

Hopefully, he'll get the help he needs and stick to it.  It seems like he's been a train wreck waiting to happen for several years.  Best wishes to him.

Praying for both him and his doctors.

At least he's coming out of the denial stage. That's a good step in the right direction.

Praying for him and I really hope he gets control of his life. This I wonder could be the parents fault. I do believe a lot of the training in our lives starts at home. JMHO. RTR!

What is the treatment for, alcohol, gambling, or something more esoteric?

 :dunno:

 :dunno:

If I were a betting man, I would go with drinking.

From all the party type things we heard about of him in college I would agree it is probably drinking. RTR!

That's what I would assume, but the statement made about his rehab seems strange to me. Maybe I'm looking too deep & don't see the obvious.

I'm thinking there are some mental issues as well that probably stem from the other issue(s) that he may have. He seems to be a messed up young man for sure.

This is what I meant by esoteric or other issues. Something like getting along with others, working with others, self-awareness, etc.

I think a lot of his problems go back to the way he was raised my his parents. He was a rich kid that had everything given to him without having to work for it. He was out of control long before he became Johnny Football.

I agree with this. The home is being destroyed and child rearing is not the first priority anymore. This is where we see jail time and drug times and all this other junk. I do hope he gets his life under control. RTR!

I don't mean to sound trite about this situation, because it is obvious to me that the kid needs some type of intervention. I just wonder how long he will be in rehab. Celebrities are notorious for going in and out of pacles seeking "help." I am trying not to be pessimistic about this, and I do truly hope JM gets it together. However, the track record for people in his position is not a good one. Maybe he will beat the odds, though.
