Title: Beyond the quarterbacks: five questions facing Alabama
Post by: pmull on July 31, 2011, 07:19:17 AM
The Question surfaced on Jan. 1, simmered during spring practice, then smoldered over the summer, and it will sizzle during preseason camp.

Who will start at quarterback for the 2011 Alabama football team?

The duel between redshirt sophomore AJ McCarron and redshirt freshman Phillip Sims seems destined to become a dual, yet it still seems to dominate conversations about a team that reports for fall drills Thursday and hits the practice field the following day.

But there are bigger questions to answer next month as the Crimson Tide prepares for a run at a second national championship in the past three seasons. ...

sure hope Mr. Carter steps up and fills the JJ void... his dad was good (apple tree)

and why does Don have to add the fumble away part ? ... Eddie knows he dropped a couple and I'm
willing to bet he hates it worse than any sports writer or fan does , let it go DK Eddie gets it !

"If No. 2 back Eddie Lacy is slow to recover from a minor pectoral muscle injury - or if he fumbles his opportunity away - Fowler could play a very key role.'

NO ONE will BE Julio!!! We may not have Julio this year, but neither does anyone else in the NCAA. I get so tired of hearing this question... >:(

Well said X. I too, am about sick of hearing peple bring up these fumbles, like it ruined our whole season last year. One was ball on helmet and the other was a hole so big EL may have dropped the ball out of sheer astonishment. Bringing it up over and over may make an issue out of a non-issue.

yeah me too WV , DK can be ok at times but I swear he has a SportsbyJerks mentality at other times .
I asked him on his site did he think he could make EL fumble , so far he hasn't said ... LOL

Of the 5 questions, only the qb spot worries me. I think we will be ok. The RB position will be fine. Last year gave EL valuable playing time. Let's just hope no one else goes down. I think a freshman  will line up at tackle. Just my rambling thoughts.
