Title: Alabama Basketball vs LSU on Now
Post by: Marshal Dillon on February 07, 2015, 05:15:51 PM
Sheesh, things are getting bad when no one posts a heads-up about the game before it starts. Obasohan & Tarrant hurt. Coleman will start. Well, here we go again & not rebounding. Norris hits a 3. LSU 10  Tide 5.

17-9 LSU, 10:55 left in half. Tide offense lethargic, but Norris has been hustling.

This is our remaining schedule of 8 regular season games. We are 14-9, 1-6 away, 4-6 in SEC. I see it possible to win maybe 4-5 more games. Miss. St., Vandy, USC, & Barn are the lower tier SEC teams. However, we are not road warriors, either. This means we finish 18-13 or 19-12. We all know that we will miss the NCAA Tourney unless we win the SEC Tourney.

Projected wins/losses:

02/10/15   at Mississippi State    Starkville, Miss.     win                                                          02/14/15    vs. Vanderbilt * TV   Tuscaloosa, Ala.      win
02/17/15   at Auburn * TV   Auburn, Ala.                   toss-up
02/21/15   vs. Georgia * TV   Tuscaloosa, Ala.              toss-up
02/24/15   vs. South Carolina * TV  Tuscaloosa, Ala.    win
02/28/15   at Vanderbilt * TV   Nashville,Tenn.       loss
03/03/15   vs. Ole Miss * TV   Tuscaloosa, Ala.               loss
03/07/15   at Texas A&M * TV  College Station, Texas   loss

If Tarrant misses more games, then all bets are off. Kessens left the game hurt so that's another unknown right now.

We listened to the game as we traveled back from Gulf Shores and it sounded like most of the games that Bama has played lately, no offense and poor defense. This is a great recipe for a loss. :wall:

I just wonder if the higher ups are as tired of not competing as we are? If we could compete it would be different but making one run in every game in the 2nd half ain't gonna get it done. RTR!

Boy, you sure nailed it. The worst part is seeing the affect on big BB fans/good posters. Jamos really down about the situation, Chechem has quit posting on games, pmull pretty much muted & disappointed, 2 Stater, & so on. Another wasted year.

I watched the first half.  With Tarrant and Obasohan out, I didn't think Bama would have much of a chance in this road game. I FF'd through the second half -- my son wanted to watched Texas Chainsaw Massacre in the interim.

Good call, less carnage.

I have trouble talking bad about my beloved Crimson Tide so I have not said much about our basketball team recently. I am very disappointed. I thought we would be a pretty good team this year and we are not. I will give some credit to the players for not giving up and playing hard. We are competitive but we can not win the tough games. I hope the players don't give up on the year and start mailing it in but I am afraid that could happen if we don't win a few of the upcoming games. The fans have given up on the year.

I have watched a few of the classic SEC games being replayed on the SEC Network recently. Mark Gottfried had a stretch where he had Coleman Coliseum full, loud and energy in the fan base. I want that back.

Stating the obvious is not talking bad about a situation. Critiquing & analysis can provide insight on a problem. Losing the fans & players is the hardest part about this matter. Good to hear from you.

I haven't given up on them. Our Athletic Department has been very satisfying/competitive is all sports! There is no way I can talk bad about them. I'm sure when the time comes the right decisions will be made. It is easy for fans to get disappointed with what is happening right now, but,  the season ain't over yet! Now I will step back and :-Xand

I am surprised people actually watched the game.

I did check the ESPN scroll to confirm my suspicion.

Sadly, it was correct.

I think it is a given of where the basketball team is today and everyone seems to have their own opinion of what needs or should be done. That being said, my opinion is to wait until the season is over and see what Bill Battle decides to do. There is nothing for anyone to be mad about at this point in time but I think there is a lot to be disappointed over, Alabama fans like to win.

I would wish that a genie would pop out of a bottle and make this team the team that I thought they would be this year but I know that isn't going to happen. All any of us can do is be a good Alabama fan as we should be and support what we have and hope that the "powers to be" will recognize the problems with the program and make the proper corrections or changes and I feel like that will happen when the season is over. Until then, Roll Tide Roll. ;)

I have complete faith that the AD knows a change has to be done. A guy who played for & started for Coach Bryant, then founded & ran a large successful business is not going to accept mediocrity. He knows what it takes to be a winner & I think he will take care of business.
