Bama explodes for 5 runs thanks to a bases clearing double by freshman Demi Turner and now lead 6-1 going into the bottom of the 2nd.

Stanford got a couple of runners on but Bama turned a 6-3 double play to get out of the inning still leading 6-1.

Bama failed to score in the top of the 3rd but Standford got 4 runs in the bottom of the inning to cut Bama's lead to 6-5.

Freshman Osorio is pitching for Bama and Stanford has been pretty rough on her so far as she has struggled with her control.

Bama has changed pitchers with Leslie Jury in the bottom of the 4th with the score tied 6-6. Stanford has runners on 2nd and 3rd and 1 out.

Jury got a ground out and a strike out to get out of the inning with no further damage.

Bama goes quickly and quietly in the top of the 6th.

Stanford got a hit but Jury prevailed and we go to the top of the 7th, Bama 11-6.

Bama loaded the bases and Haley McCleney cleaned them with a stand up triple and then scored on a fielders choice. Bama leads 15-6 as Stanford bats in the bottom of the 7th.

Bama wins-15-6 RTR!!!

Lesley Jury continues her good pitching this year and is my Player of the Game. #+

The front of the batting order is killing it. I think Osorio ran into an ump that didn't give her the corners and when she put it over the plate, they hit her pretty hard. I think she learned some things tonight which she needed to, the SEC is a lot tougher than anything she has seen so far.

Bama resumes play today with back to back games, Cal Poly and Stanford. Hopefully the starting pitcher for Bama against Cal Poly can go the distance and we will have two pitchers for the Stanford game. Stanford hit the ball well last night, maybe Bama will do a better job pitching today.

The Bama and Cal Poly game turned out to be a complete oposite of the Bama/Stanford game last night. Bama won the game in the 8th inning 1-0 by way of the International Tie Breaker rule. This rule allows the team at bat to put their last out of the previous inning on second to start the inning. Cal Poly failed in their effort in the top of the 8th and Bama was allowed to put Haylie McCleney on second to start their half of the inning. Demi Turner sacrificed her to third with a bunt and then Danielle Richard hit a scrifice fly to left field that scored McCleney. There were only 3 hits in the game and Bama had 2 of them.

Sydney Littlejohn went the distance giving up 1 hit and had 10 K's. Bama plays next and the game has already started. This game will be broadcast on 790 AM instead of the 95.3 FM.

How many times have you seen a team bust loose with a bunch of runs in a game or 2, then have trouble scoring in the next one. Glad they won and good luck to them against Stanford.

Stanford loaded tha bases with no outs. Jury gets a FC to home for the first out, then gets a strike but walks the next batter on 4 pitches forcing in a run. She then struck out the next batter.

Stanford leads after 4 innings 2-1.

Bama's record is now 9-1 and losing to Stanford at their field is no disgrace. I think the loss will help the team some as those winning streaks start to play mental games with the players. Also this was their 9th game in the last 8 days and that's a lot of games plus they traveled to California Thursday after the Samford game on Wednesday.

I would say there is probably a little jet lag with the team right now. They should be able to bounce back against Pacific tomorrow. RTR!!!

Yes sir, they've packed a lot in over the past 10 days. They'll rebound tomorrow and then head home for some needed rest.

Pacific fails to score in the 5th, Final score Bama 10-0

Alexis Osorio threw a no hitter for Bama (5 inning mercy rule). Had Runyan not had a throwing error she would have had a perfect game.  #+
