Title: Braves trade for CF Michael Bourn

Quote
The Astros received outfielder Jordan Schafer and three minor league pitchers, but the Braves didn't give up any of their top pitching prospects to land perhaps their first legitimate leadoff hitter since Kenny Lofton played for Atlanta in the 1990s.

And they still have Lowe that can be traded for some more help.

I thought Schaefer played well for the Braves this year and they played much better after he replaced Nate McLouth in CF. That said, Bourn should be a big improvement, I just hope he doesn't have a Dan Uggla start.

They lose nothing defensively with Bourn, but gain some offense and SB skills. I don't see him pulling an Uggla (I hope).

I really liked Schaefer a lot, young and played very hard, but I think this is a good trade for the Braves to get them to the World Series.

Yeah, Schaefer plays his heart out, but doesn't make enough offensive noise. Good trade.

The Braves are stinking it up today. 1 run on 10 hits through 6 innings. They just had runners at 1st & 3rd, nobody out and couldn't score. Marlins up 3-1.

The Braves have been needing a lead-off hitter for years, and now they have one. Having a solid lead-off man who can steal is such  valuable commidity. This is a great trade and it cost them very little.
