Title: Softball Welcomes Michigan, James Madison and Lipscomb for Easton Bama Bash 4 pm
Post by: Jamos on February 20, 2015, 02:46:51 PM
Bama and Michigan kick off the Bash with a 4 p.m. game followed by Bama vs James Madison at 6 p.m..

The weather is cold and windy and if there is a team in the tournament that should be acclimated to it, it should be Michigan. Hopefully the Bama ladies can adjust to the weather and play the type of ball they have played so far this season because they will need to in order to beat these teams. None of the three teams are pushovers as they all bring a good starting pitcher with them and all were in the NCAA tournament last year.

It will be cold but Mrs. J and I will just add on a few more layers and root the team on. RTR!!

What a cold cold night at Rhoads Stadium, and Bama's bats were about as cold as the weather as Michigan defeated Bama 8-2. Michigan played as I thought they might, they handled the weather much better than Bama. Michigan is a well coached team with some big sticks up and down the batting order and their pitcher, Betsa, did an excellent job contolling the Bama bats.

The temperature was below freezing, 38 degrees with a 10-20 mph wind and a light sprinkle. With more rain expected to move in soon, they decided to cancel the game with James Madison which I think was a very good idea.

I don't get to see or hear the games but I depend on you all to give me the game on here really plain. It sounds like we might not have the hustle on the team that we really need. Am I getting this right? RTR!

The hustle is there but the maturity of some of the players is not. That will come with experience and I applaud CPM for realizing this could happen and putting together a darn good schedule that should get the girls ready for the SEC competition which is always tough.

Right now who is going to be the big dog this in the SEC? I know we usually are but with the growing and the toughness of the league somebody is going to be the bullseye ladies. RTR!

Florida is the team to beat in my opinion, they are loaded this year. I think the SEC is starting to get balanced overall rather than having the 3-4 teams that once mauled all of the others. This doesn't mean those 3-4 teams aren't as good as they once were but that the lesser teams are starting to get better players and are now more competitive than they once were.
