I hope the team plays with the same energy and purpose as they did in the Auburn game. That was a complete game where we shot the ball well, rebounded and played solid defense. We attacked the basket and made quick decisions. We can not go back to the old habit of passing the ball around the perimeter for 30 seconds and toss up a desperate shot at the end of the shot clock.

The team was fired up after the barn win. I hope that carries over and gives us a boost down the stretch. Check out the short video of the team celebration after the barn game in the link below. That game meant something to them. They do not look like a team ready to give up on the season to me.

I didn't understand a word they were chanting, but they were one happy group of BB players.  :lol2:

They were chanting "Our State Hey!" In other words "We own the barn".

It appears the team was waiting on CAG and Levi to return from post game interviews. They were one happy bunch. It also looks like the team likes and respects their head coach. That was not the case at the end of Gottfried's stay at Alabama.

Great video.

I think having Obasohan healthy contributes to attacking the basket.  I hope we see more of that play against Georgia tonight.

UGA was playing very good BB, but the last couple of weeks have fallen apart. I don't know if its injuries or what. They are an excellent rebounding team which worries me.

I been watching LSU vs Fla. and I have never seen Fla look so bad. It seems they need a flip for all the rocks they been throwing up at the goal. I wonder if lsu is as good as they seem to be in this game? RTR!

Big boys for UGA:

Djurisic   6'8"
Thornton 6'8"
Maten  6'8"
Mann  6'5"
Gaines  6'3"

Basically, UGA has to win out for a chance at NCAA bid.

I think we need 4 of the last 5 plus two in the SEC Tournament to have a chance. This game is a must win for both teams.

Tough row to hoe with games against Vandy, UGA, Ole Miss & A&M, with Vandy & A&M being away. Tonights game is huge for both teams. Any word on Tarrant? He has to be 100% for us to close out big.

Georgia bigs killed Bama early.  Bama closed the gap a bit.  GA 10 Bama 7

They're saying Tarrant might be back next week.

We need to maintain our poise & hit our FT's. Someone needs to step up on the offense. Thornton & Mann in foul trouble with 4 each. Norris hits a 3, 51-49 UGA, 3:58 left in game.

Bama loses by 1 in OT.

Cooper waited too long to take that last shot.  If nothing else, he should have jumped into the defender's path and hoped for the foul call.

Overall the team played well, with energy.  Just couldn't quite get it done at the end.

After a slow start we played pretty well and should have won the game. You have to hit free throws. 16 for 31 (51.6%) will get you beat and it did.

^THIS^

I knew we were probably around 50% on FTs.

I've complained all season about the inability to make free throws and the consequences of it. Our AD was at the game last night also and he spent most of the game leaned over with his elbows on his knees and his chin in his hands.

Just for a complainers sake, the Refs sucked again last night. >:(

Well, we're not going to get good refs to work a bad game.   ;)

At the end of the game if Cooper immediately put up a shot, like the clock dictated he should, he would have been fouled or could have created a foul. Of course there is no guaranty we hit the free throws.

That is our 4th home conference loss. I can accept the Kentucky loss but the other three are the difference in a NCAA or NIT bid.

This was an ESPN2 prime time game, and a huge game for both teams.  I think all SEC basketball refs has the suk.

Can't blame the loss on the refs, though.  Make just one more FT during regulation and Bama wins.

THE GOOD

14 points & 5 rebounds by Riley Norris, true freshman
43 rebounds which tied UGA, an excellent rebounding team (3rd in SEC)
16 points by Obasohan & 2 big blocks

THE BAD

FG 21/56 37.5%
Levi 2/9 FG  0/2 3 pointers 4/7 FT  8 total points

AND THE UGLY

FT 16/31 51.6%  UGA 19/27  70.4% (Like Jamos would say, that was the ballgame)
