Title: Alabama vs. Gators Softball
Post by: N.AL-Tider on March 21, 2015, 03:53:04 PM
Game one was a pitcher's dual.  Osorio pitched a complete game and I think struck out 6.  Don't remember how many hits she gave up but she lost the game 1-0. Playing the double-header game at 5:30 this evening.  Time for some revenge!  >:(

I kept looking for Jamos in the stands but never did see him.

Game two is currently under a "rain delay" until Monday afternoon.  I'm supposing that game three will take place this evening at 6 p.m. though...

Game Three is Monday at 6:00. This was a Sat-Sun-Mon series due to TV scheduling. A lot of SEC baseball and softball played unscheduled double headers yesterday because of the expected rain today.

Nope.  Saturday they were playing a double-header.  Game two was halted at the top of the fifth inning with Bama up 1-0.  That game will be finished on Monday.  Game three is today.

There was one game scheduled for Saturday. They decided to play two on Saturday because of the rain today. Bama baseball did the same thing. There is no game today. Game two will resume Monday afternoon and Game 3 will be at 6:00 Monday as originally scheduled.

Alabama avoids the sweep by winning Game Three 5-1. Bama blew open a very tight game with a two run HR my McCleney in the 5th to take a 2-1 lead. We got three insurance runs in the 6th with McCleney again delivering the big hit with a two run triple. Alexis Osorio pitched a 4 hit gem giving up only one run.

The TV announcer sad it has been 11 years since Alabama has been swept at home.

Quote
GAME THREE: ALABAMA 5, FLORIDA 1
Alabama avoided a series sweep with a big win in game three, scoring five runs in the fifth and sixth innings to defeat Florida, 5-1, at Rhoads Stadium.

The pitching stayed strong in game three as it had throughout the weekend, with freshman Alexis Osorio (10-3) earning her third win over a Top 10 opponent, limiting the Gators to just one run on four hits with seven strikeouts. Haylie McCleney accounted for four of the Tide's five runs, hitting a two-run homer in the fifth and a two-run triple in the sixth. McCleney was moved into the three-hole for just the third time this season, while senior Danielle Richard went 1-2 with two runs scored out of the leadoff position.
