Title: CAJ attracts Class 6A Player of the Year Lawson Schaffer as walk-on Post by: Jamos on April 30, 2015, 05:01:22 PM The reigning Class 6A Player of the Year from Cullman announced this afternoon that he has accepted a walk-on invitation from new Crimson Tide coach Avery Johnson. Schaffer, a 5-foot-11 guard, also had a walk-on invite from Bruce Pearl and Auburn, and UAB. Schaffer's lone Division I offer was from Furman. He was mainly pursued by Division II schools.

From what I have read about him, he can light it up shooting. Pettway was a walkon at Bama and boy did he ever turn out to be a good player.

He is comparable to Justin Coleman in many ways. They are about the same size. Both are good point guards that can distribute the ball but Schaffer may be a better scorer.
