Title: Bama Sports Report: Practice Report: August 7
Post by: pmull on August 08, 2011, 10:04:23 AM
Bama Sports Report gives a very detailed report from Sunday's practice.

Quote
The Tide went through their typical pre-practice calisthenics, but for the first time we got a glimpse of the players who are stepping forward to lead the workouts. This is typically a good indication of the most likely candidates for team captains will be, and if I gave you three guesses as to who they were, most of you could probably get all three. Barrett Jones, Dont'a Hightower, and Mark Barron. Look for those three guys to be permanent captains at the end of the year. And look for them to provide the type of leadership that Bama got from Rolando McClain and Mike Johnson two years ago.

This part caused me to pause:
"Both of these guys are elite quarterbacks, and Bama will win with either of them at the helm. When is the last time Bama could say that? Steve Sloan and Kenny Stabler?"

How about Gary Rutledge and Richard Todd? Maybe not so much "elite", though GR was better than people gave him credit for, but definiutely could win with either.

This a mouth watering report. It sounds as if we could in stronger this year even better than the Championship season. I would however like to kknow that Duron has been cleared. RTR!

I prefer to put my football faith in the CNS process rather than wrapping my hopes and dreams around a couple of guys that have yet to wear a game day uniform (Duron, Jesse, etc.).

Very good BAMAWV you hit the point well. I do get excited about our future today when these show so much promise. When we were down all those years it just makes me feel so alive to here of such talent wearing the Crimson and White! RTR!
