Title: Thank you CRS Post by: Jamos on June 06, 2015, 09:07:09 AM The past few days has been one of the biggest challenges I have ever faced. Recently we celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary and everything seemed to be just perfect for us. In just the blink of an eye though that all changed for us. Those unexpected accidents or illnesses that most of think that will never happen to us did happen to me and Mrs. J.
Mrs. J is an excellent horseman having had a horse or horses for most of her lifetime. She, like most everyone, has very little fear of her horses and that is the problem that happens to most of us in that we become so good at something we think we are bullet proof to accidents and injury. She was removing their muzzles that the horses wear when in the pasture grazing because of a disease that they have called Laminitis. We aren't sure of what exactly happened because Mrs. J has no memory of anything but we think one of the horses spooked and accidentally hit Mrs. J. on her left side, shoulder and head. I was leaving the house around 6 a.m. that morning and she came in from the barn mumbling and had tears in her eyes. She looked very confused and frustrated and I asked what had happened. She would only say that she doesn't know where she is or what she is doing. I asked her a question about her horse Sonny and her best riding friend Becky and she knew either. I checked her blood pressure immediatly and it was high and we left for the emergency immediately. She didn't have any short term memory until we were almost to the ER. Thank goodness the ER wasn't real busy as they took her in immediately. We were told that she had received a tremendous blow to the head as well as her ribs and shoulder on her left side. There was bleeding on the brain which put a lot of thoughts through my head of would she die or become a vegetable for the rest of her life. All of the things that had just happened for us the past few weeks were just flying through my head. I was asking myself was I about to lose all of that or was she going to be crippled for the rest of her life. I've had a lot of things to happen to me before but not anything like this. I was really scared. I must say thank you to 2Stater and to all of you on the forum for your thoughts and prayers. I believe in God and I believe in prayer but I think this was the first time I have ever really listened to my prayers. I was begging to God this time because I knew he was the only salvation that I had. My prayers were answered and now I am saying thank you to God many times a day. I must thank Supercoach as well because had he not started CRS I would have never gotten to know any of you and what a shame that would have been. All of you are very special to Mrs. J and me. Today I hope to bring her home if her therapy and vitals are all ok, something that I didn't think I had a chance of 2 days ago. I feel like we are starting all over again with a new leaf on life. I have a new happiness and the two of us are looking forward to getting going again and resume the wonderful life that we had been sharing for 50 years, but a little bit smarter now. Thanks again to all of you and may God's blessings be with each of you. You are both very strong individuals and more importantly, very blessed individuals. I am so happy that she is and has improved and will continue to pray for further healing. Thanks for clearing up her condition too J. My mind has been racing with trying to come up with an explanation for what might be wrong and nothing I could think of was good. This could have had a much worse outcome as you know. I'm so happy that the best outcome is coming to be.
Title: Re: Thank you CRS Post by: cbbama99 on June 06, 2015, 02:15:33 PM A trying time, I am sure, but I am so happy to see Mrs. J doing better and that, Lord willing, will be home soon. I am keeping her, you, and all of your family in my prayers, Jamos.
Title: Re: Thank you CRS Post by: McBaman on June 06, 2015, 02:32:47 PM J -- May the healing power of God and the comfort of the Holy Ghost continue to be upon you and Mrs J. We all go through life day-by-day usually giving little thought to how fragile life can be, until that fragility confronts us. It will be wonderful when the two of you are back together in your home.
God bless... Title: Re: Thank you CRS Post by: Red Elephant on June 06, 2015, 08:32:32 PM Jamos,
