Can you say SEC?

Shortstops were a big hit leading off the Major League Baseball draft.

The Arizona Diamondbacks selected Vanderbilt slugger Dansby Swanson with the No. 1 pick Monday night, setting off a history-making run at the position.

The first Tide player is 63rd pick in 2nd round by Oakland Athletics, shortstop Mikey White. Last years #63 pick got a $900,000 signing bonus, another Tide player by happenstance. Oakland is notoriously cheap so don't expect that amount. More like $750,000-$800,00.

Mikey White is a solid player. He has a good glove and swings the bat for average and power. He has the potential to have a long and productive career in MLB.

I know they been having problems but Bucky likes to build from his farm system or that has always been the way it seems to me. O's may not be as strong this year but next year will be their 3 or 4 year under Bucky. He will have them playing like they suppose to then. RTR!

Alabama signee Mike Nikorak RHP was drafted in the 1st round with the 27th pick. This was expected. CMP said before the draft he was projected a 1st round pick and he would most likely sign. The 27th pick gets about a $2M signing bonus.
