Title: Re: "Oregon State transfer receiver visiting Alabama" Post by: 2Stater on June 15, 2015, 12:58:19 PM Quote The 6-foot-3, 209-pound Mullaney got his release from OSU and that was announced on Friday. He did graduate, so he would be eligible immediately as a fifth-year senior. Alabama lost its top three receivers from last season, so Mullaney's experience and production would pay off for a team with a first-year starting quarterback. Talk about a rich receiving corp if he comes to Bama! Title: Re: "Oregon State transfer receiver visiting Alabama" Post by: McBaman on June 15, 2015, 01:28:52 PM Rumors are that if he wants to come to Bama, coaches will take him. Insurance, I guess.
I wonder if we are recruiting guys like this or if he came to us? Signing a guy like this will send a message that Bama is open to such transfers. That can't be all bad. Title: Re: "Oregon State transfer receiver visiting Alabama" Post by: ricky023 on June 15, 2015, 04:16:02 PM I Still wonder if this guy is big and strong enough to play in the SEC? This is not the PAC-12 here. The DB's here jar a little harder than most do. It would be good if he could but I just don't see him coming to Alabama. JMHO. RTR!
Title: Re: "Oregon State transfer receiver visiting Alabama" Post by: Chechem on June 15, 2015, 05:52:55 PM Take him. No matter what, take him.
I'm afraid the days of hesitation about transfers has morphed into 'take anybody any time'. It's just the times. Just ask the Aubs! Title: Re: "Oregon State transfer receiver visiting Alabama" Post by: Bandit on June 15, 2015, 09:28:46 PM Duron Carter 2.0 :dunno:
Title: Re: "Oregon State transfer receiver visiting Alabama" Post by: Catch Prothro on June 16, 2015, 08:24:50 AM Duron Carter 2.0 :dunno: I don't know about that. No academic issues; he's graduated. :lol2:He's also had more playing time than Carter. He was named to the 2014 Biletnikoff Award Preseason Watch List last year, prior to being hampered by an elbow injury. And he had a very productive sophomore season in 2013. Don't know his reason for transferring, but probably has to do with a change in coaching staff, OSU bringing in Anderson from Wisconsin, who I'm guessing will change the offense into a rushing first approach. Or maybe the call of the Tide is just too strong. Title: "Oregon State graduate transfer WR says he's committed to Alabama" Post by: WALL-E on June 16, 2015, 02:47:02 PM Oregon State graduate transfer WR says he's committed to Alabama

And provided a better link. :lol:Pretty good highlight reel. I see why we took him. #+ Title: Re: "Oregon State transfer receiver visiting Alabama" Post by: cbbama99 on June 16, 2015, 06:43:30 PM I like it. I just hope that he can adjust to the SEC defenses.

He might turn out to be great and that would be excellent but again this ain't the PAC-12. RTR! Title: Re: "Oregon State transfer receiver visiting Alabama" Post by: Jamos on June 16, 2015, 08:04:04 PM I'm glad the young man was given a chance to play at Alabama. There's a lot more players out there that are drooling from their mouths for a chance to play for Nick Saban. ;)
Title: Re: "Oregon State transfer receiver visiting Alabama" Post by: ALTideUp on June 19, 2015, 11:29:33 AM Can he throw it to himself?
Title: Re: "Oregon State transfer receiver visiting Alabama" Post by: N.AL-Tider on June 19, 2015, 12:29:19 PM I don't understand the skepticism with this guy. I mean, he was a 3* player coming out of high school if I remember correctly and played at 3 years at OSU. That is a D1 school with D1 coaches if I'm not mistaken...I also don't think (MD is gonna love this part) that Coach Saban would have even given him a second look if he didn't think he could contribute to our offense...
Welcome to Bama young man! #+ Title: Re: "Oregon State transfer receiver visiting Alabama" Post by: pmull on June 19, 2015, 12:50:08 PM I don't like this rule allowing 5th year players who have graduated to transfer and play immediately. It seemed OK when only a few players were doing it but it has become very common. I think a player should be loyal to the DI school that has been paying his way. If it is about playing time transfer to a DII school. However, the rules allow so we have to take advantage of it like everyone else. I hope he comes in game ready and is able to contribute immediately.
We have good depth at the position so if CNS did not think he could play I doubt he would have offered him a scholly. |
