By phone, Nick Saban informed the Daphne product he was dismissed from the team, Cook's mother told AL.com on Wednesday. Alabama announced his departure earlier Wednesday afternoon saying Cook was "no longer a member of the team." Cook's mother, Melissa Cook, said her son "just had some issues outside of the field." She said it was not a legal matter, but declined to explain the specifics. The dismissal was "somewhat surprising," she said. Low tolerance standard, apparently. |
