Guys I have to say no matter about a girl calling names or hitting, I don't think boys/men should be taught to hit girls. When this happens it is wrong. 2 wrongs don't make a right. I applaud the coach at FSU for what he did. Just my Humble Opinion. RTR!

I agree Preacher.  The times when a guy is justified in hitting a woman are extremely rare and IMO, this isn't one of those times.  I'm also incredibly surprised that Jimbo canned that kid too...

I wasn't condoning the hitting of the drunk, foul-mouthed girl; just pointing out more details.  The discussion I heard on the news said 'women seem to think that hitting men is okay', but 'MEN ARE NEVER ALLOWED TO HIT WOMEN'.  I agree.

When did women start hitting men in public??  It's becoming common.  Our society is changing.  BUT, no matter how drunk, foul-mouthed, redneck, and stupid this girl was, she shouldn't be hitting or being hit.

That "news" came from his sleaze bag lawyer. He also calmed the 120 lb. girl tried to knee him in the groin. He had grabbed her arm before she swung at him. The guy is a despicable dirtbag thug, period.

It don't take long to see the integrity of another person such as yourself. I am proud and honored to know you for sure. I was just saying as a whole women do hit men in this society of today but it still to me, means a woman is sick but still she is not to be hit or abused. These kids of today have not had a belt of education applied to the seat of knowledge or they wouldn't be like they are. I blame our laws and the sick people who passed them for4 this. When you spank a person you don't beat them or abuse them but you make a great impression on their memory about what happens when they don't think in doing situations. RTR!

Wow!  You just can't justify punching an unarmed woman like that.  Regardless of whatever he has to say about this, the video proves he was never in any physical danger from her and struck out in anger.  This one was easy for FSU.  No brainer.

Hopefully, they will both learn something from this.

I wouldn't think any university would offer this clown, unless they are looking for a 19 year old yoyo that likes to hang out in bars and can't control his anger. Then again?  :-\

This is the second year in a row a high profile recruit has punched a woman in a bar before the season started.  Last year it was a RB at Oklahoma.  At least FSU had the sense to cut the offender loose rather than suspend him for a year, even if it was only after video was released. 

That actually brings up an interesting thought.  Athletes get arrested for domestic violence quite frequently, usually with little penalty...unless a video is released.  Why do coaches and organizations think it's no big deal until they actually see how ugly it is?

I agree Chech. Domestic violence runs both directions.  Unfortunately, some segments of society don't understand that yet.  I see movie previews where women are punching men, and it is played as comedy, with the mostly female audience laughing and applauding.  But that sends the wrong message.

Red Elephant is right, the guy wasn't in any danger and should have just walked away.  There was no reason to hit that girl. 

I saw a youtube video a while back.  First, a man pretended to hit a woman in public in a few different places, and every time the bystanders jumped in and physically stopped the man.  Then, they reversed roles.  When the woman was hitting the man nobody stopped to help.  Some people actually smiled and laughed as they walked past.  I'm always a little wary of videos like this, because they can be edited to show whatever the makes want to show, but in all honesty, if I saw a man hit a woman I'd do something.  If I saw a woman hitting a man I doubt I would.
